Missed The Match? Watch Real Madrid 10 – 2 Rayo Vallecano (All Goals Highlight)

The away team threatened early on but could not recover from losing Triguero and Baena in the first half-hour, and the game quickly turned into a training exercise for the hosts.

Real Madrid suffered an early scare but eventually made numerical superiority tell at the Santiago Bernabeu, as they cruised to an 10-2 drubbing of nine-man Rayo Vallecano.

Sections of the home support whistled under-fire manager Rafael Benitez before kick-off and his players received similar treatment at half-time despite being 4-2 to the good against depleted opponents.

Gareth Bale turned a first-half brace into a four-goal haul, quelling the early discontent that had long subsided by the time Karim Benzema completed a hat-trick in the final minute.

Danilo gave Madrid a third-minute lead but quickfire efforts from Antonio Amaya and Jozabed had neighbouring Rayo dreaming of a famous triumph.

Those ambitions were undermined when Tito hacked into Toni Kroos to be sent off and, after Bale equalised, Raul Baena also received his marching orders – preceding a successful penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo.

Benzema opened and closed the second-half mauling, while Ronaldo headed a second and Bale made hay.

Madrid are now within two points of champions Barcelona, who wrapped up Club World Cup glory in Japan earlier on Sunday, but the bizarre nature of this rout is unlikely to bring many Benitez doubters onside.

image

Nigeria is blessed with lots of
talented football players and some

and teams in the world.

While many have gotten to feature for
the Super Eagles during the course of
their careers, some others will never
get to play for their fatherland.

We tale a look at some of these
players, who may possibly never play
for the Nigerian national team, due to
their mixed roots and preference of
their home countries.

who was born to a Nigerian father
and an English mother has
represented England at various youth
levels and has even hinted that he

years from now during a Q and A

still playing for Arsenal and the
England senior team too. I want to
emulate the Arsenal legends.”

2. Jordan Ibe

The Liverpool FC winger is another
footballer of Nigerian descent lost to
England. Born Jordan Ashley Femi
Ibe, he is a winger c*m striker and

win in a World Cup qualifier against
Moldova at Wembley.

Born to a German mother and
Nigerian father, Sam decided early on
to represent his country of birth.

play for his homeland of England.

Villa’s Academy and still plays for the
club. He is also Aston Villa’s all-time

gave him the chance to play at the
2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa
but Aogo announced that he would
only play for Germany.

Newcastle United 2 – 2 Chelsea [Premier
League] Highlights 2015/16
Chelsea had to battle back from two goals down in order
to salvage a point as they drew 2-2 with Newcastlein the
Premier League on Saturday.

The Magpies have often been a bogey team for Jose
Mourinho’s men and they went against their own dreadful
recent form to open the scoring through Ayoze Perez
shortly before half-time.

Georginio Wijnaldum extended their lead on the hour,
leaving the Blues in considerable trouble, but a late
revival saw Willian and Ramires score two goals in
seven minutes to spare last year’s champions a fourth
defeat of the league season.

The England international scored his first
goals since returning from injury after
James Milner’s early strike, with Rudy
Gestede netting two of his own for the
visitors
Daniel Sturridge scored twice as Liverpool eased the
pressure on manager Brendan Rodgers with victory over
Aston Villa.

James Milner gave the hosts the lead inside two minutes
before combining with Sturridge after the break as the
England striker volleyed past Brad Guzan.
Rudy Gestede pulled one back for Tim Sherwood’s side
from close-range, but Sturridge looked to have sealed the
three points for the Reds as he finished with aplomb from
Philippe Coutinho’s backheel pass.

Gestede had other ideas, however, as he netted his second
of the match with a powerful header, but Rodgers’s side
hung on to register a first league win in five matches.

Having not previously scored this season,
the Chile international excelled with three
goals at the King Power Stadium, with Theo
Walcott and Olivier Giroud also finding the
net

The last unbeaten record of the Premier League season
fell on Saturday as Arsenal came away from the King
Power Stadium with a 4-1 victory over Leicester City,
Alexis Sanchez roaring back into form with a hat-trick.

Claudio Ranieri’s side took the lead early in the game
when Jamie Vardy was released down the left and fired
home from a narrow angle but Theo Walcott exploited
his pace to equalise just five minutes later.

Alexis finally scored his first goal of the season to see the
Gunners through to half-time with an advantage and the
Chilean followed up just short of the hour when he headed
in from Mesut Ozil’s cross.

The Arsenal forward then sealed his hat-trick in the 81st
minute, skipping inside a defender to shoot long and low
into the bottom corner from 25 yards.
There was a consolation for Leicester late in the day
when Vardy scored his second of the match, a curling
finish after Arsenal failed to properly clear the ball, but
there was no question that the Alexis-inspired visitors
were going to lose control of the result. That much was
confirmed when Olivier Giroud swept in a fifth for
Arsene Wenger’s men at the death.

Manchester United moved to the top of the
Premier League table thanks to goals from
Memphis Depay, Wayne Rooney and Juan
Mata as they beat Sunderland 3-0 at Old
Trafford.

Louis van Gaal’s side capitalised on Manchester City’s
defeat at Tottenham earlier in the day to move a point
about their city rivals.
Memphis opened the scoring deep into first-half stoppage
time, tapping home Juan Mata’s pass after a superb
cross-field pass by Daley Blind.

Rooney then added a second shortly after the break, the
ball hitting his knee and flying past Costel Pantilimon after
some good work from Anthony Martial before Mata
grabbed a third in the 90th minute.

Mourinho slams moaning Wenger

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says he expected Arsenal to “moan” after his side beat the Gunners 2-0 in a feisty game at Stamford Bridge.

Gabriel Paulista and Santi Cazorla were both sent off for Arsenal as Kurt Zouma opened the scoring in the second half before the Blues wrapped up the match late on through Eden Hazard’s strike, according to Soccernet.

Gabriel was dismissed after clashing with Chelsea striker Diego Costa while Cazorla received a second yellow late in the second half at Stamford Bridge and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was critical of Costa’s part in the sending off.

Mourinho, however, dismissed his rival’s complaints.

“I don’t know where the controversy was. For me there was no controversy,” he told BT Sport. “The game is about many aspects and through those combination of factors you have the best team.

“Normally the best team wins and we were the best. We were Sdominant, in control and, let’s not be hypocrites, to play with one more is easier but for me we were very comfortable in the first half.

“I think I have played against Arsenal 15 maybe 16 times and only once did they not moan. I don’t know why – maybe because they won that one. In all other matches they have reason for that.

“I played the first derby in September 2000 and I remember my words: ‘To win a derby needs emotional control’. I have played derbies in Spain, Italy, England and I always repeat the same words – ‘to win derbies takes emotional control’.”

Mourinho dropped captain John Terry for the fixture, w a game it was for us. That’s what we wanted to do and we are all happy.

“It was a very tough game and we came with 100 per cent to give everything. We dominated the game psychologically. The referee made the right decisions.”
