PayPal Limitation Removal Using Adsense Account: How I Did It

It's almost 6 months now that PayPal limited access to my account which I verified with GTBank Naira MasterCard and also linked to my Access Bank Visa card. The account was rendered useless because I couldn't use it for online payments.

The account was limited after I entered the wrong password several times and I was told to change my password, change my security question, proof my address and upload a photo ID for me to regain full access to the account.

Instantly, I changed my password, changed my security question and those were marked as "resolved" at the resolution centre but I couldn't proof my address.

PayPal rejected the NEPA bill (utility bill) which I uploaded simply because another name (name of the house owner) is on the bill.

I also couldn't resolve the issue with my driver's license because the address on it is different from the address on my PayPal account. I used the address of where I reside presently when I opened the Nigeria PayPal account but my home address is what I have on the driver's license.

The whole thing pissed me off. For months, I abandoned the account and relied on Pay4ME services of my friends for online purchases that require PayPal.

Today, I decided to check the inbox of my PayPal email address for mails related to PayPal limitation removal. Fortunately, I saw an email in which it was stated that I can also send screenshots of online statements which has logo of institution, name, address, valid date of issue and transactions (if bank account).

For some seconds, I thought of an online statement I can use and I decided to try my Google Adsense account. I quickly signed in to my Adsense account and took a screenshot of the most recent Payment receipt. I signed it to my PayPal account and uploaded it at the resolution center.

Few hours later, I received a mail that my PayPal account access has been restored. Good news..right? :)

Immediately, I started combing the web for Cyber Monday deals..eh eh. Yes, I just can't wait to grab some fantastic deals.

That's all.

NB: You can access your Adsense Payment receipts via the Payment page, after clicking on the "gear" icon if signed in via PC.

Fund PayPal in Nigeria With Access Bank Visa ATM Card

It's no longer news that using PayPal now in Nigeria is possible without having to change IP or use a USA address.

Recently, I published a tutorial on how to open a PayPal account in Nigeria with GTBank MasterCard. Ever since then, I've been getting series of mails and calls on how to fund Nigeria PayPal account and also if it's possible to get verified on PayPal with Access Bank Visa card.

Well, getting a PayPal account verified with Access Bank Visa card works perfectly. In fact, I received my PayPal verification code instantly when I confirmed the card on PayPal. No delay at all compared to when I verified my PayPal with GTBank card, during which I have to wait for long to get the 4-digit PayPal code.

The interesting part is that I was able to pay with the Access bank Visa card without confirming it when PayPal prompted me to use another card at a time the site where I wanted to make payment was declining my GTBank card which is the card I used to verify my PayPal account. It was after I used the Visa card to pay for two transactions, I decided to confirm it using the PayPal code - and the verification was instant.

You no longer have to worry yourself searching the web for PayPal exchangers in Nigeria or tutorial on how to fund PayPal in Nigeria. Reason is that once you link and confirm your debit card on your Nigeria PayPal account, all payments you make in sites accepting PayPal will be automatically deducted from the balance on your card.

Your Access Bank Visa card links to your Access bank account. So, make sure you always have enough fund in the bank account to enable you make payments successfully with your PayPal account.

How To Get Verified On PayPal With Access Bank Visa Card

==> Go to https://www.paypal.com/ng/ and click on "Sign Up"

==> Click "Open an Account" for Individual account type

==> Fill in your details including a valid email address you've never used on PayPal.com.

==> Click the "Agree and Create Account" button

==> You will then be prompted to enter your card details. Ensure the billing address matches the address you used to open your bank account. The same address is associated with your card.

==> Click "Continue" to proceed to your account.

==> Sign in to your email account and click on the verification link in the mail sent to you by PayPal.This might prompt you to enter your password for you to sign in to your PayPal account.

==> Once signed in, click the 'Get Verified" link or the "Link and confirm credit or debit card" link

==> You will be redirected to a new page to confirm your card for verification. The card type, the last four digits of the card to confirm and the billing address will be displayed. Click on "Continue" to proceed.

==> After clicking "Continue", PayPal will charge the card $1.95 (about N320) to make sure it's yours. PayPal will refund the money later.

==> You will get debit alert from Access bank via sms or email and you will see a 4-digit code associated with the PayPal charge.  Your SMS alert should include a line similar to what is displayed in the screenshot below:

==> Once you have the 4-digit Paypal code (highlighted with the arrow sign), log back in to your PayPal account and click "Confirm my debit or credit card".

==> Enter the 4-digit code in the space provided and click "Confirm Card" button.

If successful, you will see the confirmation message.

And your Paypal account status should now be verified as seen in the screenshot below:

Verified Paypal account

That's all.

You can now start using your Paypal account to make payments on sites that accept Paypal.

Your PayPal balance will keep reading 0 for now. Nothing you can do about that for now. Whenever you want to pay on any site, select the Paypal option. You will be redirected to a page where you can login to your PayPal account. Sign in and Pay. The Payment will be deducted from your card and not from the 0 PayPal balance.

Have you been able to verify your Paypal account with Access bank Visa card or any other card from other banks? How soon did you receive the code? Please, let me hear from you via comments.

Please, tweet, +1 and share this with friends.

Cheers!

PayPal Account Sign Up With Nigeria IP Now Possible!

I'm very delighted to inform you that Paypal now accepts Nigerians i.e Nigeria is now listed on Paypal website.  This simply means you no longer have to change or hide your IP for you to open a Paypal account in Nigeria. You can now sign up for a Paypal account with Nigerian IP address.

This is now possible because Paypal now allows users from Nigeria and other countries from sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America to use the online payment platform. This was announced in an interview on Monday by Rupert Keeley, the executive in charge of the EMEA region of PayPal, the payments unit of eBay Inc (EBAY.O).

As a the time of publishing this post, Paypal is only offering "send money" services for Nigerian users. This means you can only use your Nigeria Paypal account to pay for goods and services at Paypal-enabled merchant sites eg Addynamo.

For now, you can't receive payment directly with your Nigerian Paypal account because PayPal does not yet cover peer-to-peer transactions and has not yet enabled local merchants in the new markets to receive payments, nor is it offering other forms of banking services.

I created my new Nigerian Paypal account today and I've verified it with my GTB Naira Mastercard. I even used it to pay for advertising on Addynamo website after I successfully linked it to my card.

To get started, go to https://www.paypal.com/ng/

What's your take on this? Please, let me hear from you via comments.

Verified Paypal Account Opened in Nigeria Permanently Limited

Last year, I received an email notification on my iPad that my USA verified PayPal account has been limited. I ignored the mail and didn't bother to read it not until last weekend when I decided to login to the PayPal account to know what actually happened and what to do to remove the limit on the PayPal account.

I logged on and saw an alert that my account has been limited for a reason with Case ID : PP-002-504-023-262. It's stated clearly on the page that I will need to provide some information before I can have access to sensitive account features i.e I will not be able to send or receive money with the paypal account.

I clicked on the link to the PayPal Resolution centre to check out the information needed from me and when I saw the list, I laughed because inside me, I know that's the end of the account..lol :)  Imagine, they want me to provide :

  • Photo ID

  • Bank Account Statement of the VBA I used to verify the account

  • Proof of the US address I used when opening the account

  • Social Security Number

  • Business Information

If you know the tricks involved in opening USA Verified PayPal accounts in Nigeria, you will understand that there is no way I can pass this PayPal limitation review.

Despite been a VBA verified PayPal account, I suspect the red flag was raised because I've been using hotspot shield to manage the account since I created it. Might also be as a result of my last transaction in which I transferred to another PayPal account opened in Nigeria. I also read somewhere that account verified with ETrade accounts are been limited these days.

If you go through the PayPal Restricted activities in Paypal's User Agreement before opening your PayPal account in Nigeria, you will understand that your PayPal account can be limited without any prior notice.

I know this can happen anytime to my account, that's why I always use or sell out my PayPal funds, ensuring I don't have much left in the account.

So, What Next?

I will create a new PayPal account that will be verified with VBA (not ETrade account) and SSN and also ensure I use a dedicated VPN when accessing the account.

What's your take on this?
