If you want to access the internet with your PC or mobile device via the Glo network, then you will have to subscribe to a glo data plan. The data volume (MB) you will get depends on the plan you subscribe to.  There are different ways you can buy MB from Glo and that's what I'm sharing with you in this post.

1. Buy Glo Data Plan via Glo HSI Portal

You can buy glo MB at Glo HSI Portal at hsi.glo.com.



I use this portal alot especially whenever I want to subscribe to glo data plan on my iPad. If you've recharged your glo line, you can access the Glo HSI page on your device to buy your desired plan. Just click on the "BUY" icon next to the plan you want to purchase and you are good to go.



The Glo HSI portal works on other mobile devices and also on computer if you connect with a modem with a Glo line in it. You can also gift and share glo data plans at the HSI Portal.

2. Buy Glo Data Plan Via SMS

Each glo data plan has a string you can text to 127 with your glo line, for you to be subscribed to the plan. For example, to subscribe to Glo Always Micro Plan (N1000 for 30days) via SMS, you will have to text 53 to 127 with your glo line.

3. Buy Glo Data Plan via USSD

Instead of sending text messages to 127 to buy a glo data plan, you can as well dial a string to get hooked up to the glo data bundle of your choice. For example, to subscribe to Glo Always Micro Plan (N1000 for 30days) via USSD, you will have to dial *127*53#.

Kindly note that you must have enough airtime in your Glo line main account balance, if not you won't be able to buy MB from Glo.

How To Transfer Credit on Glo Network

The Glo Me2U service which allows Glo customers to transfer airtime from a prepaid glo line to another prepaid line has been restored. The service has been down for a very long time making it impossible to transfer credit on the Glo network. Now that it has been restored, I have decided to share with you, the Glo Me2U codes.





To transfer credit, dial the code below:



*131*Glo Number of the recipient*Amount to be transferred*Password#



For example, if your password is 12345 and you want to transfer N50 to a customer whose Glo number is 08055555555, then you dial : *131*08055555555*50*12345#.



You will receive an notification, prompting you to enter "1" to confirm the transfer.



That's all.

Default PIN is 00000



You can change your PIN by dialing *132*old password*new password*new password#



You can transfer a minimum of N50 and maximum of N1,000 at a time. You can transfer a maximum of N5, 000 in a day.

How To Use Glo Free Megabyte On PC

It's no more news that if you migrate to the Glo Bounce tariff plan, you will get free 30MB with Glo line everytime you recharge N200 and above. This Glo Bounce 30 megabytes work fine on computer, phones and tablets. I use the free MB on my computer with my internet modem and I've decided to share with you, how you too can start using it on your PC.





To get started, you must migrate to Glo PAYU (Pay As You Use) and you must have configured your internet modem with gloflat settings. If you want to browse on PC with Nokia PC suite, you must also set it up with the gloflat internet settings.



To migrate to PAYU, text PAYU to 127 with your Glo line. You will receive a response if the migration is successful.



If you have a Glo NetPro or Glo Bolt modem, you don't need to set up any configuration on the modem. Insert the Glo SIM into the modem and connect using the default profile.



If you are not using a Glo modem, you will need to create a new profile on your modem with gloflat settings. To do this, launch your modem dashboard, click on "Tools" then "Options" under which you will now select "Profile Management".



Under Profile Management, click on "New" and fill in the info below:

Profile Name: Glo

APN:  gloflat

Username : :flat

Password : flat

Save the setting and select "Glo" from the drop down list to connect.



That's all.



Ensure you don't leave alot of airtime on your phone when using the free MB on your PC. You know, anything can happen.

How To Use MB of Glo Bounce

After sharing the info on how to get free 30MB from Glo Bounce tariff plan, many Glo subscribers that migrated to the plan have been finding it difficult to browse with the free MB.



If you have an active glo data plan on your Glo line and also received Glo bounce 30MB, your free MB will remain intact whenever you browse while Glo will keep charging the MB of your data plan. If you've got no active data plan, your browser will keep redirecting you to the Glo HSI portal despite having free MB.



So, What is the solution?



For you to be able to use the free MB, you must migrate to the Glo Pay As You Use plan (PAYU) and must have configured your phone or modem with the gloflat settings.

How To Migrate to Glo PAYU

Use your Glo line to text PAYU to 127.



If successful, you will receive a text message that reads "Dear Customer, you are using data at Pay-As-You-Use rates of 5 kobo per KB or N51.20 per MB..."

How To Get gloflat Settings

If you've never browsed with your Glo SIM, you might have to request for the glo internet settings provided you already don't have it on your phone.



To request for the settings, use your Glo line to text flat to 1234.



Save the settings once you receive it.



If Glo replies you that your phone cannot receive the settings, then you need to manually configure your phone with the Glo settings below:



==> Connection Name = Glo

==> APN= gloflat

==> Username = flat

==> Password = flat



NOTE



You must activate the gloflat settings on your phone as the default configuration. If you add the gloflat configuration to your phone and fail to activate it, you won't be able to connect to the internet with the free Glo MB.

Code To Check Balance of Glo Bounce MB

To check the balance of your Glo bounce MB, dial #122# or dial #124# then select 4. You will not see your free MB balance by texting info to 127.
