Multichoice has announced that from November 15 to December 7 2014, DsTv subscribers can enjoy free viewing on exciting French channels.



This simply means for the next 3 weeks starting from tomorrow Sat 15 Nov, they will have fun watching amazing programs and improve their french skills on Channels 720 to 745 including TF1, Sport+, Tiji & more.



If you are a Nigerian, this might not make any sense to you but remember that DsTV have opened up their channels to all subscribers on several occasions and I am sure they will notify you when another one is confirmed.

If you opened this post thinking you will get a trick on how to watch all DsTv channels for free, I laugh in french. Multichoice is not that nice..lol

DStv Desktop Player: Download Link, Uses and Issues

If you sign up for DsTV boxoffice online account, to have access to latest movies via your PC or Mac, you will need to make use of the DStv Desktop Player if you would prefer to download the movie you rent and watch it later.



Once you have installed the DStv Desktop Player, you will be able to browse and search for movies in the BoxOffice catalogue. All you just need to do is to select your movie, click “Rent”, select your payment method and your movie will begin downloading to your computer.

Once it has finished downloading, your movie will be available to watch on your computer in the DStv Desktop Player, even if you disconnect from the internet. * Note – you will require a connection to the Internet to download your movie.

Movies downloaded will be will be available to you for 48 hours from the moment that you press the"“Watch Now" button.

You can download the desktop Player at : http://boxoffice.dstv.com/download/dstv-player

Right there, you can click on the "check now" button to verify if you can use your computer to rent and download movies with DsTv Boxoffice.

The streaming service is currently available to anyone in SouthAfrica. Hence, you might not be able to download the desktop player if your are not in SouthAfrica. Mircosoft Silverlight runtime 5.1.20913.0 is also needed to run the desktop player.

If you have the DStv Desktop Player already installed on your computer and decide to upgrade to the latest version, you must not uninstall the old version. If you do, all previously-downloaded content may be lost.

If you install the newest version of DStv Desktop Player BETA onto your computer without un-installing the previous player, you will have two different versions of the player on your computer.  Content downloaded with one player will not be playable on the other.

DsTV BoxOffice Online Account Lets You Rent and Download Latest Movies Without DsTv Subscription

If you live in SouthAfrica, you can now rent and download the hottest, latest hollywood blockbusters directly on your PC or Mac if you sign up for DsTV BoxOffice account. BoxOffice Online is SouthAfrica's first online movie rental service.



BoxOffice online is open to anyone in SouthAfrica, whether you are a DsTv subscriber or not.  If, however, you are a DStv Premium or DStv Extra subscriber, you will benefit by paying less to rent a New Release movie online with BoxOffice, if you Sign up and link your DStv Premium, DStv Extra smartcard or customer number to your BoxOffice account.

There is no cost to sign up for BoxOffice. The cost to rent each movie varies depending on whether you’re renting a New Release or a Classic movie. Once you have successfully paid for a rental, the movie will be available to you for 48 hours. Your 48-hour rental period starts from the moment that you press the"“Watch Now" button. This applies to movies that are downloaded as well.

Renew DStv & GOtv Subscriptions via a Phone Call or SMS

You can now conveniently pay for your DStv and GOtv subscriptions by simply dialing 08139851090 from your phone.



Quickteller in partnership with MultiChoice Nigeria offers the Quickteller IVR platform as a more convenient and easy way to make sure you are never disconnected from your favourite TV shows, movies, news and sports programmes.





By dialling 08139851090, you automatically access the dedicated Quickteller IVR platform for MultiChoice payments, giving you the option to pay for either your DStv or GOtv subscriptions. Simply follow the prompts and provide your ATM card details and smart card number as requested.



To complete a transaction, the Quickteller IVR system gives you the option to pay with your registered card (if only you have registered your Verve Card for Safetoken) or the option to Pay at Quickteller.com.

You can also make payments by sending an SMS to 32122. (This is currently only available for DStv.)

If your Verve Card has been registered for Safetoken, you will receive an automated IVR call asking for your card CVV2 and PIN to complete the transaction.



If your ATM card has not been registered for Safetoken either by your bank or by yourself at the ATM, you will have to use the Pay at Quickteller.com option where an SMS with a URL/link to the WebPay page will be sent to your phone to complete the transaction. However, you must have a phone with connection to the internet i.e. 3G or EDGE to access the link.



Please note that each SMS costs N30.
