Good thing is that Vice President Osinbajo has come to her rescue; Baby Aisha, a Boko Haram bombing victim in Maiduguri undergoes ‘successful surgery’ at the National Hospital in Abuja. Praise God!

8 thugs arrested for killing man in Lagos

The Lagos State police command arrested eight men over the weekend for allegedly murdering one Akeem Ajanaku who was attacked at Enu-Owa/Ido Olowu area of Lagos Island.
The suspects, Animashaun Akeem, Qudus Atakoro, Abduramon Onisemo, Muritala Oyejobi, Tabiu Mujib, Iyaniwura Idris, Tayo Oladimeji, and Segun Adeyemi, were arrested by the police at the scene of the murder, unfortunately, others escaped.
It was gathered that on November, 15, 2015, at about 1pm, thugs armed with cutlasses, axes, guns and other dangerous weapons attacked Akeem Ajanaku at Ido-Olowa/Enu-owa
According to  Supol Segun Adebayo, who reported the case at the Adeniji-Adele Central Police Station, Akeem Ajanaku, was rushed to the Lagos Island General Hospital by the police and other sympathizers; where he died.

Tayo Oladimeji, who was supposedly one of the suspects denied being involved. He said:
“I was at home sleeping on a Saturday morning when I heard my mum’s voice asking if I wont go to work.  Reluctantly, I got up from my bed and headed towards the bathroom to take my bath when I was arrested.’’
“I don’t know anything. I was in my shop that Monday when policemen came to arrest me, saying I was involved in last Sunday’s fracas on Lagos Island.   The only encounter that I had was when some unknown guys came to me at Oduduwa bus stop  and collected my wristwatch.
‘’Immediately I was arrested, I called my parents but  I couldn’t reach them and then police also seized my phone and brought me here (Lagos command)this morning. While I was in the police custody, I was told that Major and Paulo called my mobile phone. I don’t know the reason they  were calling me.”

Hajj Stampede: We Used White Cloth Of Corpses To Cover Ourselves - Nigerian Survivor shares Real experience «

A survivor of the stampede in Mina, Saudi Arabia, has
narrated how he survived the incident.
Dahiru Shittu, one of the over 60,000 Nigerians attending
this year’s pilgrimage, was among the thousands of people
gathered in Mina for the devil stoning rite, part of the hajj
activities, when the stampede occurred.

‘”We were trapped in between narrow lane with iron wall
of tents on both sides of the road,” he told PREMIUM
TIMES in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. “There was no way
out, so people started scaling fences into tents of Algeria
and other Arab countries.”

Mr. Shittu, from Igabi Local Government Area of
Kaduna State, added that “My friend and I, who were
completely exhausted from the previous long distance
trekking from Arafat to Muztalifa where we spent the night
and set out that morning to Jamra, had no option than to
step on other weaker pilgrims to survive.
“You will see mother and parents leaving their children and
aged to survive. I was however, helped by an Arab man
to scale the fence into a tent.

“Many male and female pilgrims dead or alive were seen
Unclad. We that survived, had to scavenge for Ihram
(white cloth) of corpses to cover our unclothedness. Those of
us who were alive were gasping for survival in an
exhausted struggle, some of whom were later offered ice
block by some volunteers.”

“An Ethiopian pilgrim abandoned his mother who became a
‘ladder’ for those who scaled through fences to survive.
Many others too, were crushed to death in such a manner.”
The pilgrim lamented the security situation during the rite
saying there was not enough “security around or any rescue
team.”

There have been reports that the closure of two essential
gate, reportedly at the instance of the Saudi Royal family
who were receiving some visitors, was a major cause of
the stampede, a fact Mr. Shittu elaborates.
“If the gates of those tents from both sides of the road had
opened, the death toll would have been very minimal,” he
said. “But the Arabs closed the gates and continued to hit
the hands of any pilgrim with a metal as they attempted to
scale their fences to get free air.”

The survivor, who suffered an injury on his leg, lamented
the inadequate medical attention received by some survivors
saying, “I did not receive any medical attention from either
the Saudi, NAHCON (Nigerian officials) or Kaduna
authority despite my complaints to them.”
He said he saw corpses of many Nigerians from Lagos and
Sokoto whom he identified from their uniform.

“There was a woman who was carrying a baby and I am
not sure if she will survive because there were so many
bodies piled on top of her and the baby.”
No official figure has been announced by Nigerian
authorities of the number of casualties from the country.

However, Sokoto State has confirmed that at least nine of
its pilgrims were killed in the stampede while Taraba has
confirmed three. Saudi officials said at least 769 people
were killed in the stampede while over 900 people were
injured.

Lamenting his present state, Mr. Shittu said he “was
completely traumatized; in fact if there is anything beyond
being traumatized, that was how I felt because I thought it
was the end of the world.

“But that did not discourage me from wanting to come back
for Hajj again because this is part of the test of faith.”

Saraki Is Our Man, We Will Not Abandon Him – PDP Opens Up

If a man dumped your party, joined
another to defeat you in the general
election and you now turn around to
be fighting for the same man, there is
an agenda you are working to
achieve. That’s politics for you.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,
has insisted that Senate President
Bukola Saraki is their man and is fit
for the office he is occupying; hence
they are not considering any
candidate to replace him.

PDP spokesman Olisa Metuh gave
their position: “Does the trial have
merit? When we see the merit of the
case, we will take position. But for
now, there is nothing like that.”

The PDP denied reports that it was
already looking for a senator from the
opposition party to replace Saraki,
who is currently under pressure to
resign from office following his trial
for false asset declaration by the Code
of Conduct Tribunal.
Speaking with Punch, Metuh said the
party still believed that the trial of
Saraki was political and that the PDP
would not think of abandoning the
Senate president until it sees the
merit of the case.

He added, “We have no candidate for
the office of the Senate President,
because we have a fit person
occupying the position for now.
“We are behind him and we can’t
abandon him just because he is
undergoing trial. Anybody can be put
on trial, but the question we should
ask is whether the trial is political or
not.”

Saraki, a former governor of Kwara
State, is currently facing a 13-count
charge of making false declaration as
a governor between 20013 and 2011.
Since his arraignment before the
tribunal, there had been speculations
that the PDP, which produced Saraki’s
deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, had been
scheming to replace him with one of
its senators.

Among those being touted as possible
replacements for Saraki are
Ekweremadu; a former Senate
President, David Mark; and a former
Governor of Akwa Ibom State,
Godswill Akpabio.

Nigeria’s two main labour unions –
Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade
Union Congress – on Saturday
demanded Saraki’s resignation on
moral grounds consequent upon his
trial at the CCT.

Emir Sanusi Marries 18-Year-Old Princess Secretly

image

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu
Sanusi II, has finally tied the knot
with his rumoured heartthrob,
Sa’adatu Barkindo-Musdafa, the
daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa,
Muhammadu Barkindo-Musdafa.
The 18-year old becomes the Emir’s
fourth wife. She only recently
completed secondary school.
In addition to his first wife, Sadiya,
who is the daughter of the late emir
of Kano, Ado Bayero, Mr. Sanusi has
two other wives — Maryam and
Rakiya.

The secret wedding was contracted in
a low-keyed ceremony in the town of
Yola on Friday.
Palace sources in Yola told PT that the
Wedding Fatiha held inside the palace
of the Lamido minutes after the
Jumma’at prayer.

Insiders say that the influential Emir
only sent out invitation to some
dignitaries across the country, as
Kano government officials sneaked
into Yola for the wedding fatiha to
avoid journalists.

The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi
Ganduje, was said to have acted as
the guardian for the groom, while his
Adamawa counterpart, Jibrilla
Bindow, played the role of the bride’s
guardian, who gave her hands out in
marriage to the monarch.

“His decision to take a new wife is in
line with Islamic injunction. Islam
allows having a maximum of four
wives for those who can treat all of
them equally and provide for a large
family,” said a top Kano state
government official who travelled to
Yola for the wedding.

A social commentator, Dan’Almajiri
Ibrahim, argued that in ancient times,
links between empires were tightened
by marriages among royals and nobles
across boundaries.
“So, the engagement of the Adamawa
princess to Emir Sanusi II may also be
a move to deepen royal bond between
Adamawa and Kano.

“You see, historically, both emirates
have similar origins in the 19th
Century Uthman Dan Fodio’s jihad.”
A reliable source say the young wife
will not move in with the Emir
immediately but after some time.

Woman hacks mother-in-law to death with an ax, says Satan asked her to also kill her mother and sister

Caroline Wanjiku has confessed to hacking her mother-in-
law Ann Nyambura to death in Kiambu county. She said
that Satan had asked her to also kill her mother and sister
but she didn't find them at home. The 29-year-old
reported to Thigio chief’s post on Monday, September 21,
saying visions of snakes coiling around her waist kept her up
at night.

"On Sunday night when I went to sleep, the snakes
visited me. They asked me to kill the three people
they kept asking for, but I prayed to God and slept
after they left. The following morning, they came
again and asked me to kill them. I do not know
what happened but I proceeded to the kitchen where
my mother-in-law was and killed her with an ax."

She said
She told the press, administration police and residents she
also intended to kill her mother and sister but did not find
them at her matrimonial home. "It is Satan who disturbs
my mind," said the woman whose husband, David Njenga,
works in Qatar.

She said she committed the crime while her father-in-law,
Ben Maara, was at a garage washing his car, and then
took a boda boda to her home.
Assistant chief James Mwaura said Wanjiku told her
father-in-law that she had killed his wife, and asked for
her mother and sister. "She went to the AP post to report
what she had done when she could not find her mother and
her sister," Mwaura said. "She has been taking tablets
which control her mental problem but no one knows what
happened. We are leaving everything to investigators."

Officers from Tigoni police station and crime scene
detectives from Nairobi county reported to the scene and
began a probe. They collected blood samples and the ax and
took statements from family members, but declined to
comment saying they were not authorised to address the
press.

Wanjiku was later transferred from the chief’s post to the
police station. Officers said she will undergo a mental check
at Mathari hospital. The body was taken to City mortuary

I have also been charged before the Code of Conduct tribunal - Tinubu

National leader of APC, Bola Tinubu says the current
trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki at the Code
of Conduct is nothing new to him as he was tried at the
same tribunal two weeks after leaving office as governor of
Lagos state. Speaking to newsmen after his Eid prayers at
the Dodan Barracks praying ground yesterday September
24th, Tinubu said

“After they discovered that my asset declaration had
some questions, they charged me to the tribunal. I
went and challenged them to show proofs. I was
later discharged and acquitted because there was no
evidence to prove their claim. It is only then I
accused the government of being selective. We have
to live by example and by our words.
We can’t be talking about it alone. We have to
work it without any iota of blackmail. I have been
through it. The second week I left office, I was
invited by the EFCC. I went there and answer
their questions. Later, I took them to court and I
won. The government officials are almost no longer
believable in this country. When one has a public
responsibility, they look at it as if the source of
wealth to steal and mismanage public funds and do
things that are not included in the democratic norms
and values. We cannot overlook a lot of things. We
cannot personalise a lot of things as if it is vendetta.
We have to endure, be patient, look for justice,
equity and balance society.” he said

Saudi prince arrested at L.A. compound for alleged sex crime

A Saudi prince was arrested at a hillside compound near
Beverly Hills on Wednesday Sept. 23 after being accused
of trying to force a worker to perform a sex act on him,
Los Angeles police said.
Police were called to the gated property in the Beverly
Glen area, within a gated community on Wallingford
Drive, after a caretaker at the home reported a
disturbance, officials said.

After officers interviewed people inside, a 28-year-old
man identified as Saudi prince Majed Abdulaziz Al-Saud
was arrested on suspicion of forced oral copulation of an
adult.

He was booked and freed on $300,000 bail Thursday
afternoon, jail records show. He could not immediately be
reached for comment.
LAPD Officer Drake Madison said Al-Saud was
booked after 4 p.m.

The LAPD has a consul liaison division that checks with
foreign nations' consulates regarding diplomatic immunity,
said Capt. Tina Nieto.
Police determined Al-Saud does not have immunity in this
case, she said.

Some foreign royalty do have diplomatic immunity, but it
depends on the dignitary's status in his home country’s
government and the level of the offense he commits in the
U.S., she said.

Jail records show Al-Saud is scheduled to appear in court
Oct. 19.
Neighbor Tennyson Collins said a resident reported seeing
a bleeding woman scream for help as she tried to scale the
property’s 8-foot-high wall Wednesday afternoon.

When Collins drove home from work after 1:30 p.m.,
police followed his car through the gates and onto the
property, which he described as a compound. The website
Zillow valued the 22,000-square-foot property at $37
million.
Officers escorted some 20 people out of the house, many of
them staff, Collins said.

Police said Al-Saud was renting the home. Collins said
various foreign nationals have been renting out the property
for weeks at a time over the last year but that the biggest
incident up to Wednesday had just been a raucous party or
two. One person who rented out the home stationed armed
guards at the gates, he said.

“Obviously neighbors aren’t happy about it, but it is
what it is,” Collins said of the international visitors.

Buhari called to wish me speedy recovery while I was in UK hospital - Akpabio says

President Buhari, Godwill Akpabio who returned to
Nigeria two days ago after flying abroad to get medical
treatment on injuries he sustained in car accident, said
President Buhari actually reached out to him by telephone.

"Let me place on record the support of Pres.
Buhari who did something extraordinary. The
President called the hospital that I was in London.
He called the hospital line, and said put me through
to the Minority Leader of the Senate who is in
your hospital. And they connected him. The room
number was Room 215. And he spoke with me.

He said, Akpabio we are praying for you. Insha
Allah, it shall be well with you.” Akpabio said at a

I slept on the floor for 4 days and trekked for several kilometers- Chief Olu Falae

Chief Olu Falae who was yesterday escorted back home
by security operatives after been kidnapped for 4 days said
he slept on the floor during that time and trekked several
kilometers with his kidnappers.
Falae said this while narrating his ordeal in the hands of
his abductors to the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko
who visited him after he was excorted home by the Police

He said he had been kidnapped Fulani herdsmen who
invaded his farm on Monday.

According to him, after he was kidnapped he was made to
trek with the herdsmen from his farm located at Ilado in
Akure North to Owo in the same state.
Falae told the governor that for the four days he was with
the Fulani herdsmen he slept on bare ground and trekked
several kilometers throughout the night to get to the hideout

I made N6m as a fake lawyer – Suspect

A fake lawyer, Olawale Falola, who claimed to be a
dropout of a university in Osun State was arrested by the
Oyo State Police Command during a stop-and-search in
Ibadan recently.

It was gathered that after seeing a sticker belonging to the
Nigeria Bar Association on his windscreen, the police
asked him about his identity, but he couldnt defend his
'Lawyer' status.
He said he made N6m from victims whom he promised to
help secure jobs at the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation, NNPC.
According to him:

“I paraded myself as a lawyer and I have taken
money from more than 100 people. I promised to
get jobs for them at NNPC and security
organisations. I have made up to N4m from the
practice out of which I bought a Toyota Corolla
car. I lived in Osogbo. I came to Ibadan to visit
my family when I was arrested by the police.”

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Leye Oyebade,
said Falola’s car valued at N2m had been impounded and
that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as
investigations into his activities were concluded.

He said:

“Falola was arrested for parading himself as a
lawyer when he was not.
“The car was bought from the proceeds of his illegal
activity and he had confessed to the crime. There is
no place for such people in our society. In our
renewed effort to completely rid the state of
criminals, the state police command will not give
room for criminals to thrive.”

Heroic Nigerian troops have today
captured the economic important and
strategic town of Banki town in Borno
State which is equally noted for
fishing.

It is important to note that major
economic and trading activities
between Nigeria, Cameroon and
Central African countries takes place
in the town.

The gallant troops have completed
exploiting through the town and
terrorists’ famous Boko Haram
Islamiyah (An Islamic School)
building. In addition, the soldiers
have destroyed 7 Boko Haram camps
and successfully detonated 7
Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
The troops have succeeded in
discovering and detonating 13 IEDs
between Darel Jamal and Banki.

During the encounter to recapture the
town, several Boko Haram terrorists
were killed and several others were
captured alive between Banki junction

was facilitated by concerted efforts of
the Nigerian Air Force and close
