Write Text On Pictures Online Free At These Sites

There are sites that allow you to add words to pictures online for free. Hence, you don't have to worry yourself installing Adobe photoshop or any other photo editing software before you can add text directly on your photos.





Let's say you want to add your blog link to a photo you want to use in a blog post or you just want to create a meme, then you need to try the sites I'm sharing with you below. The sites simply lets you add captions to your photos.

1. PicFont

At www.picfont.com, you can upload a picture from a computer, mobile device or URL, and add text directly on it. You can make a poster (meme for example) with the uploaded picture, then insert text or draw on the picture.



The site also allows you to create a picture ( ad banner for example), just by choosing width and height (in pixels) and a background colour, then you will be able to add text. Once you are done, you can save your creative to your PC or mobile device.



As at the time of publishing this, Picfont.com will not add watermark to edited pictures you save from the site.

2. AddText

At www.addtext.com, you can also write words directly on photos you upload to the site but a watermark will be added to the photo after downloading it from the site. If you want to remove the watermark, you will have to pay.



Whenever I use the site to add texts on my photos, I use my WIndows PC snipping tool to snip out the watermark :)

Traffic stats via statcounter.com can be configured to display data of specific interest per day, week, month, quarter or year. So, for example, you can choose to view only pageviews for the period 15 Jan 2014 to 10 August 2014, or view pageviews, unique visits and returning visits for the Last 8 Weeks - virtually any configuration is possible.



Statcounter offers a "drill down" tool that allows you to drill down on your stats and view visitors relating to them. If you go to "Keyword Analysis" for example, by clicking the page magnifying glass next to a keyword, you will be able to drill down on that keyword to show all visitors who used that keyword in a search engine to find your site. And, of course, you can then click on the Magnify User icon to get a detailed report on the user and their navigation path through your site!

Few days back, I shared the list of the top 10 Nigerian entertainment blogs. Today, I've decided to share with you, the list of the top 10 Nigerian technology blogs in 2013. What I've done is to scan through the top Nigerian sites on Alexa.com, for blogs that cover more of tech topics. So, if you notice some of the listed blogs not to be 100% tech, pls don't scream..lol

Launched in April 2013 by +Bankole Oluwafemi , TechCabal.com, even without using Alexa ranking, is my best Nigerian Tech blog at this very moment. Currently ranked 189 in Nigeria as at the time of publishing this post, the blog brings together a "cabal" of tech veterans, enthusiasts that share experiences, insights and latest happenings around the local tech ecosystem.



TC covers Nigerian Tech News, gists around the Nigerian techosphere, Nigerian startPps reviews etc in a unique style that even got it listed as one of the 10 most remarkable things that happened in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem in 2013 according to YNaija's 2013 review.

2. Naija Tech Guide 

Launched in 2006 by +Paschal Okafor , Naijatechguide.com, currently ranks 227 in Nigeria, just one position ahead of my blog as seen in the screenshot below.

NTG focuses more on mobile tech and covers a lot of reviews about the latest tech gadgets including their prices in Nigeria.

Despite what happened to the blog in October 2013 which forced Google to de-list it from Google search for over one month, the blog ranks 228 in Nigeria as at the time of publishing this post and also made the TechCabal's list of Nigeria’s Top Hundred Websites Of 2013. With my new plans for the blog in 2014 and the grace of God, I hope to see it grow bigger and rank better by the end of 2014.

WayBack Machine Lets You View Snapshots of What A Site Looked Like In The Past

After changing the look of the desktop view of my blog yesterday, I realized I didn't take a snapshot of the old look before effecting the change. Though not necessary, I decided to google if there is a way I could see the previous looks of my blog.



Fortunately, I stumbled on "Google Cache" and the "Wayback Machine". While the "cache" maintained by Google only displays the snapshot of a page as it appeared when last it was indexed; the "Wayback machine" displays snapshots of a site throughout its' history.

The Wayback Machine's Internet Archive worked for me and I was able to get the snapshots of what my blog used to look like. You can also try it. It's fun.



To start viewing what a site looked like in the past, go to http://www.archive.org/web/web.php type in the web address of a site or page where you would like to start, and click the "take me back" button. Then select from the archived dates available.



If your site has been listed in major directories, like dmoz.org or have been linked to by some popular sites, your site will be automatically added to the internet archive. If you don't want your site in the archive, you can read how to delete your site from Wayback Machine.
