GTBank Token Blank? Here Is How To Get and Activate a New One

My GTBank token device finally stopped working on Monday - no more displaying anything on the screen i.e blank . I applied for a new one the next day at GTBank Makurdi and I received it that same day. After 24 hours, I was able to use the token to add beneficiaries from the GTBank mobile app but couldn't transfer not until I activated the new token online via the GTBank Internet banking platform.

How To Get New GTBank Token Device

So, if yours have stopped working too, all you just need to do is to go to the nearest branch office of Guaranty Trust Bank and request for a new one. You will be issued a form to fill with your details.

You must also go with the "dead' token because they will collect it from you. You will be issued a replacement token device that same day but you will have to wait for at least 24 hours before you can start using it.

How To Activate New Guaranty Trust Bank Token Device

After 24 hours of applying for a new token device, you will receive a text message or mail from GTBank informing you that your token has been replaced with a new one. Thereafter, you can log in to your GTBank online baking account to activate it.

Once you log in, you will see a page similar to the screenshot below:

Enter the token ID without hyphen (-). (e.g. 1247138043) in the space provided, tick "Acknowledge" and click "Continue"

If successful, you will see: "Scam Alert Acknowledgement Successful." Click "OK"

You will receive sms from GTBank, thanking you for completing the GTBank Scam alert acknowledgement process.

You can now proceed with your online money transfers via the GTBank mobile app or internet banking platform.

What Happens If Don't Activate the New Token?

If you fail to activate it online, you will keep seeing "internal server error" everytime you try to make transfers via the GTBank mobile app. Although, you will be able to add beneficiaries with the token.

That's all.

I hope this helps.

GTBank Token Device Locked? Here Is How To Reset It

My GTBank Token device was locked yesterday while trying to make online money transfer via the GTBank Internet banking platform. It was locked after entering three different transactions codes generated from the token device.

Wondering why I have to enter three different codes? Well, I did that because the GTBank server was rejecting every code I entered to complete the transaction despite the fact that I was entering the exact code seen on the screen of the token device.

Immediately it was locked, I was prompted to log off and re-login to the Internet banking platform for me to reset the token device.  I signed off and on signing in, the form below was displayed for me to enter my Token ID and transaction code generated from the token device.

gtbank token reset form

I entered the ID but to my surprise, the token was no longer working. I pressed its button several times to generate a transaction and nothing was displaying on the screen. I was so pissed off because I was already thinking I will have to go to the bank the next day to get a new token device.

Immediately, I took to Twitter and Facebook to announce my frustration and also to know if any other person is also experiencing the same problem. Comments from some of my friends made me to realize I wasn't the only one experiencing it.

Few minutes after tweeting my frustration, I got a reply from @GTBank on Twitter to call GTConnect.

gtbank tweet

The GTConnect customer care rep asked me the name on the bank account, the address on my profile, my last successful transaction and my token ID. After confirming all the information provided to him, my token was unlocked. Thereafter, I was able to complete my transfers on the GTBank Internet platform without having to get a new token device.

How Do I Get My GTBank Token ID?

The ID is at the back of your token device.

That's all.

Have you also experienced this? Were you able to resolve it by yourself via the Internet banking platform or by calling GTConnect? Pls, let me hear from you via comments.
