How To Change Domain Nameservers at DomainKing

If you've registered a domain name at DomainKing and would love to connect it to a web hosting account you have elsewhere, then you will have to change the domain name servers at domainking to the ones provided by your web host.





Follow me through the steps below to get it done:



==> Sign in to your account at DomainKing website

==> Click on "My Domains"

==> Click the small arrow next to the domain name you want to edit it's nameservers.



==> Scroll down to the Nameservers section as seen in the screenshot below:

==> Select "Use Custom nameservers"



==> Delete the Namesevers and replace with the ones provided by your web hosting company.



==> Click "Save Changes"



That's all.



You can expect a propagation time up to 24 hours. This is because it takes time for the DNS to take effect across the internet. So, be calm.

How To Link DomainKing Domain Name To Blogger/Blogspot Blog

Ever since DomainKing launched the cheap .com domain offer in Nigeria, many bloggers in Nigeria have been leveraging on the opportunity to get a custom domain for their blogspot blogs. Unfortunately, many of them don't know how to use the domain name for their Blogger blogs.





Although, I offer the custom domain service for N3,000, I've decided to share the steps involved, for free simply because I'm a nice guy :)



I assume you have registered the domain name and it's already active. If not, read : DomainKing Domain Name Registration Guide for Nigerians to get started.



If registered and active, go to domainKing website and log in.



==> Click on "My Domains"

==> Click the small arrow next to the domain name you want to use for your Blogger blog.



==> Scroll down to the Management Tools section and click on the "DKNG DNS & Free Email Panel" button

==> Click "Manage DNS Records"

==> Click "Continue to DNS Panel"

 ==> Click on "A Records" tab > "Add A Record"

==> Leave the "Host Name" field empty



==> Enter 216.239.32.21 in the "Destination IPv4 Address" field



==> Click "Add Record"



==> Repeat same for 216.239.34.21, 216.239.36.21, 216.239.38.21 so you have four A Records.



==> Click on "CName Records" tab > "Add CName Record"

==> Enter www in the "Host Name" field



==> Enter "ghs.google.com" in the Value field. Ensure you select the second option as seen in the screenshot below:



==> Click "Add Record"



==> Open a new tab in your browser and sign in to www.blogger.com



==> Go To "Settings" > "Basic" > "Publishing"



==> Click : + Set up a third-party URL for your blog



==> Enter www.yourdomain.com in the box and save. After clicking save, you will see an error message.

==> Copy the details of the second CNAME quoted in the error message ( Label and Target ) and paste somewhere eg notepad



==> Switch back to the domainking page, click "CName Records" > "Add CName Record"



==> Copy the "Label" and paste in the "Host Name" field



==> Copy the "Target" and paste in the "Value" field (2nd option)



==> Click "Add Record"



After 5 - 10 minutes, go back to your Blogger settings page and try saving it again.



If successful, click "edit" and tick the "redirect" option.



If still displaying the error, you might have to wait a bit more and try again.

DomainKing Domain Name Registration Guide for Nigerians

Recently, I published a post on DomainKing's domain offer which allows Nigerians to get domain name for as low as N499. Since then, I've received series of mails from those who don't even know how to register a domain name, talkless of how to link the domain name to their Blogger blogs. 





Well, in this post, I've decided to share with you, steps involved in registering a domain name at domain king website. Just follow me through the steps below:



==> Go to domainking website here

==> Click on "login" 

==> Click on "New Users Register here"

==> Fill the form and verify the registration via your email



==> Go to the domain registration page here

==> Enter the domain you want to register in the space provided ( without www)

==> Click the drop down to select the TLD of your choice (.com, .net, .org, .biz, .in,.co etc)

==> Click "Search"

==> If your domain is not yet registered by someone else, a congratulatory message will be displayed.

==> Click "Continue". You will be redirected to the domain configuration page

==> Tick the 3 add ons but do not touch the Nameservers.

==> Click "Continue to final checkout page"



==> On the "Review and CheckOut" page,  you should see your personal details. If not, click on the "Existing customer" tab and sign in to your domainKing account.

==> If you have a domainKing coupon code, enter it in the promotion code field.



==> Select your payment method. I use VoguePay because it lets me pay with my Nigerian ATM cards.

==> Tick the terms of service box

==> Click "Complete Order"



If you select VoguePay, you will be redirected to VoguePay page where you can pay for the domain name.

If you have funds in your Voguepay account, select the Voguepay option and click "Proceed".



If you want to use your atm card, select the second option: (interswitch mastercard/verve) or the 3rd option : VerifiedBy Visa for Visa cards. Then follow the instruction to make your payment.

If payment is successful, click "continue to merchant site".



Once redirected back to your domain king account, click "MY DOMAINS".

If the background of the domain name you registered is light green, it means it has been activated. If not yet active, wait till you receive activation notification from domainking in your mail.



You can then use the DNS console to configure your domain for whatever you want to use it for.



That's all.
