5 Common Causes Of Male Infertility

[caption id="attachment_635" align="aligncenter" width="207"]male infertility. male infertility.[/caption]

Male infertility can be caused by series of conditions. It is not a condition any man will like to experience in life. Sometimes most of the things we do in life, our lifestyle help to encourage this soul killing condition.  While some people are born with it. Some young and singles may be living with with it but with the feeling that they are normal, only to get married one day and when on the search for a kid will find out that they are even in the same court of infertility. Knowing the causes can at least help start the hunt for a remedy. Here is a 5  list of the common causes of male infertility.

  • Problems On Sperm Production

For sperm cells to be produced normally the various parts of the body that has being assigned to these has to be working properly and also communicate  efficiently. As the process of sperm production appears to be so complex, the parts involved which includes: testicles, hypothalamus, pituitary gland, etc, needs to work relatively to one another to produce healthy sperm, because one thing is to produce the sperms and another thing is to produce the healthy ones. So many things and conditions can cause low sperm count, male infertility or make the sperm grow weak, they include:

  1. Varicocele

  2. Infections

  3. Ejaculation Problems

  4. Tumors

  5. Industrial Chemicals

  6. Alcohol

  7. Radiation

  8. Overheating of the testicles

  9. Smoking

  10. Weight

E.T.C

  • Blocked Sperm Duct

Blockage on sperm cell transport can cause watery semen(semen that contains no sperm). This blockage on the tubules that transport sperm from the point of production towards the penis can be caused by some conditions:

  1. Vasectomy(cutting and removal of a section of the vas deferen

  2. Cognital Absence of the vas-deferens

  3. Infections

  4. Obstruction in region of prostrate (infections on the postrate can cause swelling and it will block the ejaculatory duct)

Blocked sperm ducts is one of the common causes of male infertility. Research has it that it is the cause of infertility in 1 of every 5 infertile men.

  • Sperm Antibodies

It is very possible to develop antibodies for sperm cells. This occurs when certain conditions which interrupts the normal process and barrier between the part of the body which produces the sperm and the part that conducts the produced sperm to the exterior. When this barrier is breached, the immune system of the body will start recognizing the sperm cells as being foreign. Like they will do to an invading bacteria or any other harmful micro-organism, the body's immune system will begin to make anti-bodies to combat the sperm cells. The antibodies will cover the head of the sperm cells and thereby slow down their motility rate and cover their head,  interfering with the acrosome reaction of binding to an egg.

  • Sexual Problems

Although they are not among the common causes of male infertility. But i think they are worth mentioning. They include, erectile dysfunction, early ejaculation, etc. Erectile dysfunction(impotence) is the condition whereby a man can no longer get or keep an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. Internally, what happens is that the  tissue that makes up the penis(penile tissues) cannot hold blood any longer. This can either be that the blood vessels supplying them are broken or malfunctioning. It is when blood flows into the penile tissues that erection could occur.

Early Ejaculation is the condition where a man experiences early orgasm and is moved to expel semen early during sexual activity, with minimal stimulation

  • Hormonal Control

In most cases, male infertility is caused by the pituitary gland, it may send the wrong hormonal message to the testes, causing low testosterone level which will basically lead to low production of sperm cells.

Common Banking Scams You Should be Aware Of

Although banks are investing heavily in technology and cyber-security in order to beat the best of hackers, there are some crooks that can still use some tricks to withdraw money from your account at an ATM even with your debit card in your pocket.

As with all types of frauds, the best way you can counter this is to have more information and be fully aware of the possible dangers that lurk in cyberspace. So, if you own a bank account, below are the most common banking scams you should be aware of; a list originally posted on Punch website:

1. Cheap Passwords

If your wallet or bag gets stolen, chances are that your ATM will be close to your ID card. Fraudsters can easily withdraw with your card if you are the type that use cheap passwords like date of birth as your PIN.

The best way to prevent this is to use more secure passwords. In case you lose your card, don’t wait till you begin to receive alerts, report to the bank immediately.

2. Phishing – Some ‘fake’ banks need your password to upgrade

While pretending to come from an original bank, they send out emails designed to lure you into revealing your banking/personal password, token pins or text codes which is then used to access your bank accounts online. Such mails comes with link which if clicked, redirects you to a cloned site (fake site that looks like your bank's site) where your data will be captured by the fraudsters.

No bank will need your password details for any upgrade. Ignore any email requesting such. Avoid clicking on such links and avoid using public computers for personal banking transactions.

When you spot a phishing scam, report it to the bank immediately. This allows the bank to take the necessary actions that get the website blacklisted, banned or taken down.

3. Text Fraud

With the emergence of text messaging systems which allow users to send bulk SMS while customising the name of the sender, fraudsters can dupe you if your business relies more on alerts systems (email or text).

Akin (not real name) is a car dealer who told a customer to go on and
make payment at the bank while he waited patiently for a text message.
No sooner had he received the text message from the ‘bank’ than he
released the car only to realize later that the text message from the
‘bank’ was fake. He had clearly fallen victim of advanced text fraud.

While most bulk texting gateways are already taking precautions to vet messages before they go out, always try to confirm payment independently from your account officer, your bank balance on your ATM, online banking channel or through systems created by the bank. Be wary of a credit alert that doesn't show your account balance.

4. Withdraw at gun point

Some crooks especially at nights, force their victims to withdraw cash from an ATM by threatening them with a gun.

Use only bank ATM machines in well-lit, high-traffic areas. ATMs inside busy supermarkets are considered safer. Don’t use ATM machines that are remote or hidden, such as being located behind buildings, behind pillars, walls, or away from public view. Beware of obvious hiding places like shrubbery or overgrown trees.

Avoid ATMs where people are lurking around. Since you cannot return the money to the ATM, don’t waste time counting money at night.

If you take the precautions above, those crooks won't find it easy to dupe you of your money.

Do you know other banking scams or tricks used by those crooks? Do you have an experience to share? Kindly let me hear from you via comments.

Facebook Ask Lets You Find Out Relationship Status of Friends and More

Facebook has unveiled a new feature, called Ask, that lets your friends request that you share your hometown, current city, address, phone number, work and relationship status, if you haven’t already filled them out on Facebook.

When your Facebook friends visit the “About” section of your Facebook timeline (on desktop or mobile), they will see the "Ask" button or link. Friends that click on it to request for info not present on your timeline, can also add a note to explain why they are requesting for the information.

facebook ask

Facebook ask feature

You will be notified of the Ask requests via Facebook notifications and if you don’t want to provide the info to the requester, you can simply not respond to the request. If you choose to answer, this information is then added to your profile. By default, only you and your friend can see it, and you also have the option of sharing it with others, too.

NOTE:

==> There is no way to turn off the Facebook Ask feature as at the time of publishing this post.

==> If you tell a friend something different (relationship status) from the person who asked before, your relationship status will change universally on Facebook, even if you select only share this info” with the person asking. Friends you've previously shared your relationship status with in the past will be able to see that change if they manually return to the About section of your Facebook timeline. So, be wise!

The boy who added you as a friend yesterday, who you never spoke to or a girl who got attracted to you by your Facebook swagg might soon be asking you for your relationship status.

Teens who might be spying on a crush via Facebook. Or even an older user who wants to know if their ex is still single and/or living in the same town as them will definitely find it useful.

Do you like the new "Ask" feature?

How to Share Blogger Posts or Pages to Google+

When you share Blogger posts/pages to Google+, an entirely new group of people will be able to find and follow you. Right now, if you access your Blogger dashboard, you'll notice that there's a Google+ tab which can be used to connect your blogs with your Google+ profile or page. If your Blogger blogs haven't already been integrated with a Google+ profile, you can go anytime to the Google+ tab and click on the Get Started button:
share blogger posts or pages to google plus

get started with google+

It's important to note that once you've upgraded your blog to connect with Google+, the posts or pages published on your blog will be listed on your personal Google+ profile. However, you have the option to select whether your content will be shared on your Google+ Profile or Page and associate some blogs with a Google+ page, while keeping other blogs connected with your profile.

How to associate your blog with a Google+ page

In some cases, you may want to associate a blog with the Google+ Page for your brand, business or organisation, rather than your personal profile. For this, simply access your Blogger dashboard, visit the Google+ tab and there you can swap the Google+ connection from using your profile page to a Google+ page linked with your account:

share on google plus

On the right, you'll have the following options:

- Automatically share after posting: This option is enabled by default on all blogs linked to Google+. When you publish a blog post or page, a snippet will automatically be shared publicly on your Google+ page or profile. You can disable this setting just by unchecking this box.
- Promote to share after posting: If you don't want your post to be published automatically, then you can check this option. This option will allow you to share only some blog posts, or share to specific circles.
- Use Google + comments on this blog: This option enables the new Google + comment system on your blog. This is also a new feature provided by Google.

Share Blogger posts or Pages on Google+

If you have the Prompt to share after posting option checked, next time you publish a blog post, you'll see a share box inviting you to share your post with your Google+ followers. Note that the default circle is set to "Public" but you can modify your circles every time you choose to share.

share post on google plus

Once you click the Share button, this post will appear on the profile or page to which you have connected your blog. Keep in mind that if you have posts scheduled to be published later, you will no longer be asked to publish to your Google+ stream. In this case, you can choose to Share your post/page at any time by clicking the Share link beneath a post or page.

share blogger posts on google+

You can also click on this option each time you want to share only certain posts, or if you want to retroactively share posts and you don't want to constantly change the setting.

As soon as you've chosen to use your Google+ profile on your blog, you can start sharing your content on Google+. If you haven't yet made the switch, click on this link to get started.

How to add Static Pages to a Blogger Blog (UPDATED)

A few months ago, Blogger has completely redesigned the section of the Pages, which now, looks very similar to that of the Blogger Posts. Now we will be able to manage the pages with more flexibility. For example, we can publish, delete or change many of them to draft at the same time - which has just the same function as the old Don't show option.

Among the options that we can find by hovering over a page and which we can see in the screenshot below are:

Edit: To access the editing panel and to edit its contents.
View: Open a new tab with the actual page.
Share: Share it on Google+ (which was not possible before)
Delete: remove a page.
add static pages on blogger

static pages, blogger

In order to create a page, we need to open the pages editor from the button that says New Page. Almost every option tells us its function.

How to add a Web Address in the Pages widget

Many Blogger users wanted to know how can we add other web addresses, so that they display in the list of the Pages widget, since this option no longer appears in the "Pages" tab?

Well, now we will have to open the settings of the Pages widget by going to Layout, then click on the Edit link in the widget / gadget for Pages (if you don't have the Pages gadget, just click on the Add a gadget link and select "Pages" from the pop-up window). And from there, we will find the option that says: Add link page and we will have to type the Web Address in the second field every time we want to add a new page from a specific address or URL (see the screenshot below).

Another cool feature that has been built is that now it will be possible to add a search description, and in that field to add the text that we want to appear in search results. Until now, this option has been available only for blog posts.

search description for pages

This option will appear once you enable the Enable search description? option by choosing Yes. This will show up on "Meta Tags" by accessing the preferences for the search engines: Settings > Search preferences > Meta Tags > Enable search description?

KemiFilani.com Recognized by Mashable.com

While going through my taptu feeds yesterday, I stumbled on an article on Mashable.com in which 360Nobs, BellaNaija.com and KemiFilani.com were mentioned as top local blogs in Nigeria that reported the abduction of chibok girls by Boko Haram on April 15, a day or more before Western media picked up the news.

While it might not sound as a big deal to you, it is to me. Mashable is a well respected tech blog in USA, with a global Alexa rank of "222" as at the time of publishing this article; the kind of site bloggers like me love to get a backlink from.

Besides the backlink, am sure you know what it means when a site like Mashable reports that Punch and other smaller bloggers picked up a news from your blog... :) When such happens, you can assume the author has been following your blog, probably bookmarked your blog as one of the top blogs in Nigeria.

Anyway, I am glad to see Kemi Filani's blog going places. Kemi, a Mass Comm graduate from Redeemers University, is really doing a great job on her blog and if you do follow her blog, you will notice she is different from most of the copy and paste Nigerian gossip bloggers out there. She shares any gossip with her readers even if a top blogger like Linda Ikeji is involved.

KFB foodie recipe, events, love stories are brilliant ideas she integrated into her blog and are making sense so far. She started the blog in 2012 but became serious with it in 2013. I was the one that even registered the domain name for her last year. Her blog now ranks 236 in Nigeria on Alexa as at the time of publishing this.

My wish is to see her blog as one of the top 100 blogs in Nigeria soon. Feel free to check out her blog at : www.kemifilani.com

How to Hide Tweets Of People You Follow Without Unfollowing Them

On Monday, Twitter announced the introduction of a new account feature called MUTE, to people who use Twitter iPhone and Android apps and twitter.com; a change I personally have been waiting for.

Mute is a feature that allows you to hide a user’s Tweets from your timeline without you having to unfollow them. When you mute a user on Twitter, their content will no longer be visible to you on your Timeline. Unlike blocking, the person can still follow you, interact with your tweets and can still send your direct messages.

How To Mute a Twitter user on Twitter.com:

Konga Escrow Payment System : How It Works

Konga.com, a top Nigerian online shopping website has integrated escrow payment system into their ecommerce platform. The escrow service will ensure that all payments are only made to sellers on Konga marketplace once delivery has been confirmed by the buyer. i.e Konga will only pay sellers when buyers are happy with the product.

In other to ensure buyers and sellers are satisfied during any sales process, the Konga Escrow system has been developed working with Nigeria’s leading banks to provide 100% buyer protection. Konga Escrow allows for secured and easy payment online without exposing your ATM/Debit Card details.

How It Works

Konga escrow System

  1.  Buyer pays for order via Konga Escrow

  2.  Seller delivers order to Buyer

  3.  Konga Escrow releases payment to Seller

Konga Escrow verifies the payment details for every transaction and will only give the seller the go ahead to ship the order after payment confirmation.

Payment will be made to the seller if no order delivery confirmation is received within the time frame set by the seller as regards the return policy for a particular product. This could either  be 7, 14 or 30 days.

Step 5. Search for the SECOND instance of this code below (hit Enter two times):
<data:post.body/>

Note: depending on the template you are using, you could find more lines like this one above. Therefore, if you don't see any changes after saving the template, try to replace the last one, as well.

Also, please note that if you are using the Read more function, you may need to remove it in order to make it work.

Step 6. After you found <data:post.body/> - replace it this code:
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType != &quot;static_page&quot;'>
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType != &quot;item&quot;'>
<ul class='timeline'><li class='event'><input checked='checked' name='tl-group' type='radio'/><label/>
<b:if cond='data:post.thumbnailUrl'><img class='thumb' expr:alt='data:post.title' expr:src='data:post.thumbnailUrl'/></b:if><div class='thumb'><b:if cond='data:post.dateHeader'><span><data:post.dateHeader/></span></b:if></div>
<div class='content-perspective'><div class='post-content'><div class='blog-post-body'><h3><b:if cond='data:post.link'><a expr:href='data:post.link'><data:post.title/></a><b:else/><b:if cond='data:post.url'><b:if cond='data:blog.url != data:post.url'><a expr:href='data:post.url'><data:post.title/></a><b:else/><data:post.title/></b:if><b:else/><data:post.title/></b:if></b:if></h3><p><b:if cond='data:blog.pageType != &quot;item&quot;'>
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType != &quot;static_page&quot;'><data:post.snippet/></b:if></b:if></p></div></div></div></li></ul></b:if></b:if>
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == &quot;item&quot;'><data:post.body/></b:if>
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == &quot;static_page&quot;'><data:post.body/></b:if>
Step 7. Finally, click on the Save template button to save the changes.

Now, we will need to make some small adjustments in order to make the posts date appear correctly:
Go to Layout and click on the Edit link just below the Blog posts area. When the pop-up window appears, check the date option and choose to display the date in the following order (date/month/year):

Note that you can also hide the posts date by unchecking this option.
Finally, click on the Save button and that's it! View your blog and enjoy this Responsive Timeline view with 3D Effect on Blogger posts. If you need more help, please leave a comment below.

jjjj

Hyperglycemia, referring to high blood sugar may occur when someone has diabetics. While Hypoglycemia, the direct opposite of hyperglycemia refers to low level of blood sugar.  In this post i am going to make clear the difference between the two conditions and also how to recognize their symptoms to avoid high levels of medical emergencies. Such as loss of consciousness due to low blood sugar(hypoglycemia) and dehydration, diabetic ketoacidosis due to high blood sugar(hyperglycemia).

If you have being following closely you will notice that either of this conditions are health friendly, high level of blood sugar can be as dangerous as low level of  blood sugar. On the other side of the balance scale is the low blood sugar, equally known as Hypoglycemia. This occurs when the level of sugar in the blood  drops below what your body requires to function. As we all know, the chairman in the body, referring to the brain suffers the most when this condition sets in, this is because the brain consumes the most sugar in the body. Not eating enough food or skipping meals, taking too much drugs and exercising more than usual can lower the level of blood sugar in the body. If this happens there will be a loss in consciousness and even seizure.If your blood sugar level drops from 300 mg/dl to 100 mg/dl you may have symptoms of low blood sugar

Always check your blood sugar level with the traditional method by pricking your finger and dropping the blood that ensues into a test strip and then placing the strip into a meter to display your sugar level. They are cheap, self explanatory and user friendly.

Facebook Shortcut Numbers To Help Users Find Friends

According to a post on TheNextWeb, Facebook is currently testing a new feature called "Shortcut" by rolling it out to some Facebook users. This feature will make it easier for Facebook mobile app users to quickly find their friends on Facebook.

If you enter the unique Facebook shortcut of your friend in the "Find someone" search box of the Facebook mobile app, the app takes you directly to the friend's page. The feature will probably work like finding friends by using phone number or email address.

This might be a good alternative to finding friends using names, which atimes might be frustrating especially when there are many Facebook users bearing same name without profile picture.

The Next Web’s social media intern Carlos Sandova spotted the feature and shared the screenshot below on Twitter:

I hope Facebook will roll out the feature to all Facebook users soon.

Slotlimited.com Redirected To Slot.ng

While trying to check the current price list of Tecno Android phones at SLOT throughout last week, the SLOT Nigeria website was not accessible. I also noticed that www.slotlimited.com automatically redirects to www.slot.ng. I checked again this morning and I am glad it's now working fine.

The SLOT website now looks a bit different from the old design, although it still maintains the red/black/white colour theme. You can view the price list of all accessories, phones, laptops etc available for sale at SLOT by clicking on the "Products" link in the navigation bar.

SLOT Nigeria website

The search bar at the top of the site makes it easier to get the price of any phone or accessory and the site now features the "SLOT Magazine"; an online gadget magazine available at phoneshoppers.net.

SLOT still have a lot of work to do on the site especially as regards to the SLOT online store which is not fully integrated with the slot.ng domain name. Making the "Sign in" and "Create an account" link to redirect to "bigcommerce.com" link is not really cool at all. I hope they work on this asap.

Check out the site and feel free to share your observation via comments.

How to Enable Google Plus Comments in Blogger

How to Enable Google Plus Comments in Blogger

Long time ago, Google proudly announced their new integrated commenting system which is now available for users who have created a Google+ profile and connected it with their Blogspot blogs. This way, Blogger users will be able to use Google+ as a commenting system for their blogs, while comments from Google+ will automatically appear on their blogs.
google plus commenting system on blogger

For those who haven't yet upgraded the Blogger profile to a Google+ profile, here's a tutorial on how to associate a blog to a Google plus page. Once you have connected a blog to a Google+ profile, you'll have a new "Use Google+ Comments on this blog" setting on the Google+ tab of your blog. To enable the Google plus commenting system, just check the box next to this setting:

use google+ comments on this blog, blogger tutorial

As soon as you've enabled the feature through your Blogger Dashboard, you'll have the following features:

- Threaded commenting system: the threaded system will allow a reader to reply to other comments on that post, thus the conversations will become much easier, more effective and more enjoyable
- Public and private comments: this ensures a better privacy for your visitors which can make their comments either public or private
- Edit or delete comments: your visitors will be able to edit any comments that they wrote even after publishing, so they don't have to write another comment explaining the correction
- Google Plus One (+1) button in comments: we can up-vote any comment by clicking this button. This is a great feature which could also help you to get some traffic from Google+
- "Also share on Google+" check box: with this option which is right below the comment editor, we will be able to share a specific comment on Google+ and thus get more traffic!

Things to consider before adding the Google Plus Comments in Blogger:

- the Google Plus commenting system won't work for private and adult blogs
- If you are using a third-party commenting system like Disqus, your comments might not be retained when you enable Google+ Comments
- If you change domain name, comments will be gone. Therefore, it would be highly recommended to implement the Google Plus commenting system only after you've decided to use a custom domain name
- If you choose to allow comments pending moderation, you will have to visit the post in order to approve, hide or delete comments before they are publicly visible
- Only registered Google+ users can comment, this means that visitors who don't have a Google+ account will not be able to comment on your blog

How to Enable Google Plus on Custom Blogger Templates

If you are using a custom blogger template, the comments might not show up after checking the "Use Google+ Comments on this blog" setting. In this case, we will need to apply the following trick in order to enable it on custom templates:

Step 1. From the Blogger Dashboard, go to Template and click on the Edit HTML button.

Step 2. Click anywhere inside the code area and press the Ctrl + F keys to open the Blogger search box.
Type or paste the following line inside the search box and hit Enter to find it:
<div class='post-footer'>
Step 3. Just below it, paste this code:
<div class='cmt_iframe_holder' data-viewtype='FILTERED_POSTMOD' expr:href='data:blog.canonicalUrl'/>
Step 4. Click on the Save template button to save the changes... and that's it. Now we should be able to enjoy the Google Plus comments in our Blogspot blogs.

Happy commenting!

Display Blogger Posts in Grid View with Thumbnails

Grid View with Thumbnails is a script for self-hosted Blogger blogs which will display blog posts as a thumbnail grid of images in homepage and archive pages. Instead of sending your blog visitors to a page that displays all the posts in full length with a large image which takes up too much space and requires too much scrolling, now you could have a clean page that displays a gallery grid, with thumbnails and post titles, linking back to the source post for that thumbnail. Let's take a look at what it could look like in this demo blog.

grid view on blogger posts

If you have a wallpaper or photo blog that would benefit from displaying a thumbnail grid style layout, look no further. Here's how you can add Grid (gallery) View to Blogger posts.

Adding Grid (Gallery) View to Blogger Posts

Step 1. Log in to your Blogger account and go to Template > click on the Edit HTML button

blogger template html

Step 2. Click anywhere inside the code area and press the CTRL + F keys to open the search box

Step 3. Type </head> inside the search box and hit Enter to find it.

Step 4. Just above the </head> tag, add the following script and style:
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.9.1.js"></script>
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-migrate-1.1.0.js"></script>

<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == &quot;index&quot;'>
