Adsense Ads Not Showing After Switching To Custom Domain? Here Is What To Do

Lately, many Blogger users have been complaining that AdSense ads stop showing on their blogs once they add a custom domain to their blog but shows if they revert back to their .blogspot address. Well, you are not alone. That's how the Google Adsense system now works.

If you signed up for AdSense through an AdSense host partner (eg Blogger or YouTube), ads generated from such AdSense account will not display automatically on a custom domain (aka Non-host partner website). Ads will only display on the host sharer - YouTube, or blogger.

If you would like the ads to show on a custom domain, you will have to apply for approval and why you wait for the approval, you MUST not switch back to the .blogspot address.

How To Apply For Custom Domain Approval

==> Log in to www.google.com/adsense

==> Click the gear icon in the upper right corner then, from the drop-down list, select Settings.

==> In the sidebar, Click on "Access and Authorization" > "Site authorization".

==> Tick the "Only allow certain sites to show ads for my account" box,

==> Enter the URL of your custom domain, then click "Submit".

Thereafter, you need to implement AdSense ad code on the URL that you provided above, on a page that receives traffic. You can easily implement this via the Earnings tab or by copying and pasting the ad code in an HTML/JavaScript gadget on your Blogger dashboard.

Note that your ad units will remain blank until your request has been approved. If your application is not approved, be assured
that ad serving on your host partner site will not be affected, hence you can then switch back to the .blogspot address.

DO NOT switch back to .blogspot.com while AdSense is reviewing your custom domain. If you do that, AdSense will see a domain registrar's parked domain page when they try to access your custom domain and AdSense won't approve that.

When they access your domain, they have to see your blog, so leave the blank spaces the way they are until until your application is approved.

If you don't want to wait, don't use a custom domain name.

I hope this helps.

Get Rid of That Nasty Cough for Good!

A cough, especially a persistent one, can be quite troublesome and uncomfortable. Coughs can be caused by an excess of population or by consuming sweets or extremely cold substances. Coughing is also considered by many as a way for the body to remove harmful viruses and mucus which may have accumulated in the throat. While some prefer having a glass of warm brandy to sooth the throat during the winter months, some
prefer to opt for cough syrups that could also provide relief. However, the problems with cough syrups is that they contain a certain amount of alcohol that can make you feel extremely drowsy, leaving you with the desire to sleep.
Listed below are some home remedies to get rid of that persistent cough that you may be dealing with:
You could always opt to add some maple syrup to baking soda mix to help stop the cough. However, make sure that you only have a tablespoon of the mixture.
Take at least 2-3 cloves of garlic and boil them in milk for around 2-3 minutes. The taste could be quite unpleasant but it helps in stifling that cough that you are suffering from
The Germans truly believe that thyme is the best remedy for a cough. The leaves of thyme possess certain cough-suppressing compounds that help soothe and relax the throat muscles. You could always add a few leaves to boiling water and have it as a tea for immediate relief.
Black pepper is also considered by many as a great antidote to getting rid of coughs. It helps stimulate circulation. Make a tea with black peeper and some honey with boiling water. Strain the tea and then sip it and feel the relief. However, this mixture is not really suitable for dry coughs.
If you desire quick relief from a cough that is causing your discomfort, then squeezing a fresh lemon in your mouth is the best remedy. However, the taste is quite unbearable as you will need to add some black pepper and salt to the lemon before you suck on it.
One of the other good cures for a cough which has been used for centuries is to drink a cup of hot milk with some honey. This will give you relief.
Grind some almonds and add orange juice to it for fast relief from coughs. This remedy has been passed down from time immemorial and serves as an effective cure.

How To Import Blogger XML File To Self-Hosted Wordpress

When this blog was deleted by Blogger for some weeks, I was busy offline on my localhost, trying to prepare the blog for a move to WordPress. Transferring the blog posts of the deleted blog to my localhost WordPress won't have been possible without a Blogger .xml back up file. You can download the file from your Blogger dashboard by going to Settings > Others > Export Blog.

Despite having my Blogger back up file, I didn't find it easy to import my posts to my localhost WordPress. The Blogger Importer 0.6 plugin of the lastest version of Self-hosted WordPress doesn't have the option for uploading .XML files and I couldn't authorize the plugin to import my Blogger posts since there is no way I could sign in to my deleted/locked blog.

I tried converting the Blogger .xml file to WordPress .WXR file using the Blogger2WordPress converter so I can easily import the .wxr file using WordPress Importer plugin but the converter didn't work for me probably because of the huge size of my back up file.

After some research online, I was able to stumble on a trick that worked for me, which I've decided to share with you. The trick simply imnvolves the use of Wordpress.com whose Blogger Importer Plugin still supports uploading of .xml files.

So, if you have your Blogger .xml export file handy, just head over to sign up for an account at www.wordpress.com or log in if you already have an account there.

Create a new blog there and from your WordPress.com dashboard, go to "Tools', select “Import” from the menu that appears, and click "Blogger".

Export Blogger

Click “Choose file,” browse your PC for the the Blogger .xml file you want to import, and select it. Then, click “Upload the file and import.”

Thereafter, go to “Tools” –> “Export”. Select the "all content" option and click on the "download export file' button.

Next, log into your self-hosted WordPress blog, and click on “Tools” –> “Import”.

Click the "WordPress" Importer plugin to install it. After the plugin is installed, click to activate it.

wordpress importer

In the Import screen, click the button to locate the file you downloaded from WordPress.com and click the “Upload file and import” button. Your XML file will upload to your self-hosted WordPress site. Assign author(s) and choose whether to import attachments or not and click "submit".

The process may take some minutes to complete, so be patient.

Once complete, you should see all your posts, drafts, categories and comments in your self-hosted WordPress. You can read this article if it fails to import all your comments.

That's all as regards importing your Blogger .xml file to self-hosted WordPress but there are other things you still have to fix after moving from Blogger to WordPress. I hope to write on this later.

I hope this helps.

How To Get Rid Of Dry, Cracky Feets

Time after time any of us has experienced dryness of feet and even appearance of cracks. Depending on problems
with separate organs or health of the whole body, dry skin can appear in different areas throughout the body. As for dry feet, very often cracked skin or calluses is the reason. The problem of dry skin is known as xerosis. It can be considered as a cosmetic problem until it transforms into something more serious as for example itchiness, pain and even secondary infection. Skin thickens and becomes dry also because of some other reasons, such as problems with veins on legs, allergy, irritation, athlete`s foot and psoriasis. As for one of the most widespread reasons of dry skin on a child`s feet is atopic dermatitis.Basic causes of dry skin:
Very often physical stress may provoke dryness
of feet. When it is hot inside your shoes, then
water is lost and it results into thickening of
skin`s top layer. Heat and humidity are
dangerous especially when shoes are too tight.
Temperature may increase up to 120 degrees.
Some cosmetic products such as soaps, for
example, are removing oils from your skin and it
becomes dry. It happens because oil balance of
skin is violated.
Various diseases may cause this problem.
Diabetes and unhealthy diet are among them.
Lack of vitamin A or some acids such as alpha-
linolenic acid (ALA) and gamma-linolenic acid
(GLA), can be very serious reasons. Crohn's
disease that provokes digestive disorders may
lead to lack of these components.
Over the time our organism becomes exposed to
hormonal changes. Because of this fact
regeneration of skin cells is reduced and it results
into thickening of a layer of skin called stratum
corneum. Because of aging protective fat on our
feet become thinner. Because of its loss, skin
stress increases and cracks and calluses appear.
Condition of skin always becomes worse during
winter time. It is cold outside and home heating
makes the air dry which also influences our skin.
If creams and lotions don`t help you to cure
cracks and calluses then you should immediately
visit your podiatrist. He will help you to identify
the primary reason of these problems and will
prescribe you medications that will cure
secondary consequences. You shouldn`t worry
because calluses can be easily removed by him.
It is a very good way to improve the outlook of
your feet and avoid problems which may take
place in future. If you have extremely dry skin on
feet then he may prescribe some strong
moisturizing creams which consist of various
oils.

Healthy and beautiful feet:
To avoid or to get rid of problem of dry feet you
should use your foot cream systematically. It
would be great if it contains - hydroxy acid,
because it helps to peel dead cells and to make it
easier to moisturize deeper layers of skin.
Lanolin is an effective barrier which moisturizes
your skin and consequently it is very useful for
cracked feet. This ingredient is well known as a
product for breastfeeding mothers, but it can be
used by everyone.
If you have an allergy then you should choose
hypoallergenic cosmetics or products which are
intended for sensitive skin.
To remove rough areas from your feet you should
use pumice stone after bathing or just foot bath.
It effectively removes calluses and dead cells
from the layer of skin and it improves outlook of
your feet. In case if skin is too dry you can use
loofah sponge.
Intake of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and gamma-
linolenic acid (GLA) can improve your skin due to
decrease of water loss. They are contained in oil,
nuts and primrose oil which is usually consumed
in capsules.

Still Using .blogspot.com Address for Your Blog? See Why It is Risky

If you've set up a custom domain for your Blogger blog and Blogger deletes your blog, you can move your blog to WordPress and your readers will still find you whether you backed up your posts or not. If you have an up-to-date back up of your Blogger posts, your readers will be able to access all your posts after you move on to WordPress.

If you don't have a back up of your Blogger posts, that means you will have to start publishing new posts after moving to WordPress but your readers will still be able to find you.

custom domain

This is not the case if you don't have a custom domain and Blogger deletes your blog.

If you are using .blogspot address and Blogger deletes your blog, you will have to use a new web address if you decide to move to WordPress.  You cannot use .blogspot address on WordPress and Blogger will not even allow you to set up a new Blogger blog with the .blogspot address of the deleted blog.

This means your blog readers will not be able to find you as they will keep seeing "Blog Not Found" anytime they visit your blog till Blogger re-instates the blog.  What if Blogger decides not to restore your blog?

So, if you are still using .blogspot.com address, is it not wise for you to to change to .com today?

You can read how to set up a Blogger custom domain or you can pay me to get it done for you within 24 hours (You will get free custom email).

Remember to always back up your Blogger blog.

What Happened To The Blog and Other Things You Need To Know

If you are a regular visitor to this blog, you will definitely be wondering why the desktop version of the blog was inaccessible for over one month. Well, it's something I wasn't prepared for, hence the reason why I couldn't get the blog back online within few days. So glad and thankful to God to see it restored on Tuesday because not all Blogger users are lucky to have their blogs re-instated after been removed.

You can read the full gist of what happened here and how it was restored. You should also read the challenges you might face if you wait for blogger to delete your blog before moving to WordPress.

During the downtime, OgbongeBlog emerged the winner of 2013 OYAA Awards's Best Online Media On Technology in Nigeria. You can read more about it and check out the photos here.

On the other side, the organizers of Nigerian Blog Awards couldn't list the blog as a nominee for the 2013 Awards because the blog was offline when they were carrying out a final check on the nominated blogs.  Painful but life goes on...

As you can see, the blog is now having a new look. The night I finished working on the new look was when the blog disappeared.

The desktop version is now responsive i.e the blog design “responds” to the size of the browser display in which it is being viewed. I changed the homepage design to magazine style and also re-arranged the sidebar. I hope to share the tutorials with you in the long run.

Did you miss the blog?

Recent Rotating Post Gadget with Excerpt For Blogger

This JavaScript code will display the latest posts of any feed, the difference being that it has two parts which can be used individually or combined. The top of this widget will show a single post along with the title (link), author, date and a brief summary of its content. In addition, this post will rotate automatically within a list whose number of elements will be decided by us. At the bottom, we'll find a full list with the chosen posts that on mouse over will replace the post above, thus breaking the automatic cycle.

Before installing anything, let's see it in action to decide if it does what we want.

}
.clearFloat {

<script src="http://www.google.com/jsapi" type="text/javascript"></script><script src="http://www.google.com/uds/solutions/dynamicfeed/gfdynamicfeedcontrol.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
function showGadget() {var feeds = [{title:'List',url:'http://helplogger.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=10'},];
new GFdynamicFeedControl(feeds, 'feedGadget',{title: 'Latest Posts', numResults : 10, displayTime : 5000, hoverTime : 500});} google.load("feeds", "1");
google.setOnLoadCallback(showGadget);
</script>
<div id="feedGadget">Loading...</div>

Customizations:

The URL in blue is the feed. Obviously, the http://helplogger.blogspot.com URL should be replaced with the feed URL of your blog.

Next is start-index=1. This number indicates which post will appear first on the list. By default, it is the latest post published on your blog, so if you want to begin displaying older posts, change the 1 value.

max-results=10 indicates the maximum number of posts that we will be reading from the feed, beginning from the one that we have set up before in the start-index=1. This number always needs to be equal or greater to what we should see later and what it does is to set the number of posts that will be shown in the gadget. The easiest way would be to put 500 in order not to fail, but the higher the number is, the longer the gadget will take to load, so it's better to adjust to what we need to show.

Finally, here are some other script parameters:

title: 'Latest Posts', is the widget's title that appears on top.
numResults: 10, number of posts that will show in the list
displayTime: 5000, the delay time between posts in the rotator (in milliseconds)
hoverTime: 500, minimum time for an item in the list to be displayed at the top.

If you want to hide the list and show only the posts, change this part:
.gfg-list {
position : relative;
overflow : hidden;
text-align : left;
}
To:
.gfg-list {
display:none;
}
If you want to display only the list, change this:
.gfg-entry {
background-color: #FFFFFF;
width : 100%;
height : 9.2em;
position : relative;
overflow : hidden;
text-align : left;
margin-top : 3px;
}
To:
.gfg-entry {
display: none; }

Step 4. Save the gadget and you're done. Enjoy!

Lose Weight Before Christmas Time!

With Christmas only a few weeks away, it is still not too late to lose those unwanted pounds and get fit for the festive season.

Before you start on an effective fat burning regime, you need to first get into the right state of mind and put your entire focus on your goal for the next few weeks.
And what is more - I am going to do it with you! I had surgery to pin my foot together after an accident, so put on a few pounds while I was out of action - so it's time for me to get back on the bike - literally!
Step 1
Set you fat burning goal.
How much weight do you REALISTICALLY want to shed before Christmas?
I am setting my target at one stone - roughly 2 pounds a week. My motivation will be how I will look and feel by the time Christmas arrives, and the fact that the timescale is short. You have to choose what will work for you
Step 2
Decide on your fat burning exercise programme. There are hundreds that you can choose from, so let me make it easy. Fat burning is best achieved through a combination of careful eating (note - not Dieting!) and an effective fat burning exercise programme. Head over to the website at the end of the article for a free video showing you how to do this:
Step 3
Having chosen an effective fat burning exercise process, now you need to make the right food choices. Aim to take at least 1200 calories a day, but you may need more depending on your size and metabolism. It has been proven that 1200 a day will assist the loss of about 2 pounds a week, without stressing your body or making you feel hungry.
So, what should you be eating?
  • Let's start by what you should avoid over the next few weeks. Steer clear of fat - obvious but necessary. So you will need to bin the chips, fried food and anything else with a high fat content.

  • Look for lean meat and fish to provide you with the protein that you will need. Grilled chicken is also a great source of protein and like many of these types of lean food, will help you to feel fuller for longer and provide you with the fat burning fuel for your exercise regime

  • Make sure you get your 5 a day - fruit and veg. If you feel the need to snack, use fruit as a healthy alternative to stuff like cake, biscuits and crisps.

  • Stay hydrated. Often, when you feel hungry, you are in fact thirsty, so drink as much water as you need to stay fully hydrated. One delicious way to get the correct amount is to mix one part cranberry juice with four parts water. This tastes great and has the added benefit of boosting your fat burning potential.

  • Look for more sources of fibre. This will help to maintain a healthy bowel, but fibre is another great food for making you feel fuller for longer. It is also calorie free so make sure you get a good fix of fibre at the start of the day - porridge flavored with cinnamon is a great way to start the day
Step 4
Monitor your progress. Keep a record of how you are getting on - otherwise how are you going to know!

Effective Health Tips For Women

Living a healthy life begins with adopting a healthy lifestyle. What we do every day of our lives has a lot to do with the quality of our health. Here are a few simple and effective health tips for women who live in this modern day and age.

Learn to laugh and be a happy person
Contrary to popular belief, happiness is not dependent on external circumstances. Happiness is more an attitude of the heart. People who resolve to be happy would not be swayed by external circumstances. Their joyful outlook would in fact turn the circumstances around for them. Laughter dispels stress, lowers blood pressure and strengthens the immune system. Be happy, and you will find that your health improves considerably.
Start the day right with a sumptuous breakfast
Never ever skip breakfast. If you start the day wrong, you are already putting your wrong foot forward. Even if you have to wake up 15 minutes earlier in order to accommodate breakfast into your morning schedule, do it. It is the first step towards eating right. When you eat well in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism and helps to burn fat more efficiently throughout the day. A simple mix of oatmeal, raisins, nuts and some fruits are sufficient to get you started for the day.
Get Sufficient Sleep
In order to wake up early, you need to go to bed a little early as well. Most people sit before the television set till they get sleepy. They assume that they need some entertainment after a hard day's work. But in reality, most people watch shows that get them emotionally charged or drained, which adds more stress to their mind. This often makes it difficult to have a restful sleep.
Sticking to a regular schedule trains the body to function at its optimum best. This has a profound positive effect on one's health. If at all you need to watch a show that airs beyond your bedtime, record it and watch it later when you have nothing else to do.
Eat Colorful Foods
Certain foods have bright colors for a good reason - they are good for your health. Blueberries, carrots, arugula and various fruits and vegetables that are brightly colored are very good for your health. They contain powerful compounds that reduce inflammation and improve general health.
As you might have noticed, living healthy has a lot to do with adopting a healthy lifestyle. It might be a little difficult in the beginning. But once it becomes a routine, living healthy would become second nature to you. Once you taste good health, you would never want to be sick ever again.

Belly Fat diet: 5 Bad News Foods That Can Make Belly Fat Build Up Fast

belly fat

It can never be a pleasant sight when your appearance shows like that of the man on the featured pix above. Everybody wants to wear a posture of a seasoned flat tummy and if possible a belly ripped with the much anticipated 6 packs. But unfortunately to wish for this can be very simple but to achieve it very hard because you have to first of all check on what goes into your mouth. You have to check up on your diet and make sure you stay away from the belly fat diet that makes fat to clog around the belly. Below are a list of  belly fat diet you should stay clear of as they will only end up giving you the pleasure but depriving you of a good posture. Here goes the list of belly fat diet to avoid.

  • Freeing Your Diet of Fast Food

Admit it. Fast food is certainly very convenient for people who live life in the fast lane. And unfortunately is the number one on our list of belle fat diet. When you're always on the go or you simply don't have time to prepare meals or wait around for food in healthier dining venues, the frequent (not really last) resort is fast food. Picture all those foods being cooked in fatty oils! Imagine how one bite can actually put in numerous unnecessary calories that you could have avoided. Those burgers, fries, and the like have very little to contribute to your overall health and wellbeing. They only make your butt swell up, your thighs enlarge, and most especially increase and hasten belly fat buildup.

  • Pulling Away from Potato Chips

Potato chips is another type of comfort food on our belle fat diet list. Many individuals can't help eating especially when they're hanging out with friends or watching their favorite TV show. Were you aware just how huge the amount of trans fat is in these potato chips? Most brands are made with hydrogenated oils also known as trans fat. This serves as your ticket to weight gain and heart disease, so you better think twice before popping one more chip into your mouth.

  • Deserting Dessert Daily

If you don't want to appear pregnant or look horrible in a tight-fitting blouse, it's also essential to start avoid dessert as much as you can. This can be a big challenge if you have gotten accustomed to having it as part of your meals. Nevertheless, you can opt for healthier, low-calorie and low-fat options. Avoid the common desserts such as ice cream, cakes, cookies, and other sweets which often contain plenty of refined sugar. These will give you nothing but additional pounds and hideous bulges.

  • Stopping the Soda Habit

Another favorite on the belly fat diet list is Soda. Many people simply love to drink soda. Think empty calories combined with excessive pounds! If this idea seems to turn you off and you're determined to keep the belly fat at bay, then you really have to stop the soda habit.  Sodas commonly consist of high fructose corn syrup, which is a leading ingredient proven to cause obesity. Furthermore, this type of beverage also consists of different additives that are fattening and unhealthy.

  • Preventing Pancake Cravings

Surely pancakes make your mouth water, especially with all those yummy syrup choices and delicious toppings. But actually, you must take note that this type of food should also be avoided when it comes to decreasing or preventing belly fat. Pancakes come with huge amounts of fat and calories that will unquestionably expand your belly area and make you look unattractive. Hence if you're craving for pancakes, just opt for whole wheat waffles instead. Stay away from these 5 foods. They're bad news! Rather than focus on the feeling of deprivation, make yourself look forward to great-tasting healthier alternatives and to days of looking spectacular in your dream clothes.

Over to you, do you have any contributions to make on our belly fat diet list? You can throw more light to this post.

Here, I have put some styles in green that can be customized as you want , such as the border color and the background color. The arrows are images, so if you want to change their color or use other pics, you have to change the two URLs in blue.
The width of the carousel is of 685px, so below the header might look good. If you want to change the length, then you need to change the /* width of the container */ (which is the size of the entire carousel), the /* width of the images container*/ (which is the area that shows the thumbnails) and the /* overall width of the thumbnails */ which is the actual width that all the thumbnails occupy.

Step 7. In order to save the changes, click the Save Template button

Step 8. Finally, go to Layout and click the Add a Gadget link, then choose HTML/Javascript from the pop-up box and paste the structure of the carousel inside the empty box:
<div id="Carousel2" class="carousel">

<div class="picture"></div>
</div>

</div>
</div>
</div>
Add the links and images addresses. The link URL is optional, so you can add the addresses only when if you want to link the images to some posts.

If you add more images or remove some, you need also to change the width of the thumbnails, otherwise some pictures will appear behind the others.

If you want to add more pictures, just add before the </div> tag, a piece of code like this:
<div class="item">
<div class="key caption">Thumb</div>
<div class="icon">
<a href="link URL"><img width="65" height="65" src="image URL" /></a></div>
<div class="picture"></div>
</div>
And in case you want to align the gadget, just change the part from Distance from the left to another value.

Weight Loss Without Hunger Pains

Diets and exercise alone are the prescription to something that many people don't always want to talk about. The main issue is hunger, and the pains that come along with craving food. Whenever you try to live healthy, you may be doing what millions of people are doing, and that's omitting certain foods, calories and other essential ingredients to sustainable living. Don't allow yourself to get to a place where you're not eating enough in order to get a good body, because that's not good. For those that aren't sure that weight loss without hunger is possible, you'll want to explore a solution that is getting a lot of praise right now.

The best solution for losing weight and still feeling full is that of ViSalus shake mix. This option is fortified with vitamins and minerals and is meant to replace at least a couple of meals a day. This may sound extreme, but when you start to unravel the ingredients, you will see why it is one of the more compelling things that you are going to try in these modern times. From day one, you will feel more energy, and a good sense of balance from the caloric intake, as it will not be a boost of sugar. You'll start to be free and clear, moving forward with great vigor and no sign of hunger or cravings.
This is not something that is just marketing speech, millions of people are reviewing this methodology and have praised it, because it works. Weight loss sustained without hunger is something that used to be impossible, but it is not any longer. When you are replacing meals, your body will use the nutrients to not only spike metabolic rate, but also turn fat cells into energy. That means that you will slowly start to see results and eventually you will have the body that you want, and will not have to spend hours and hours in the gym.
Medical science backs up this information with even Harvard University coming out with a long term study that indicates proper results. Those that chose to enjoy meal replacement shakes instead of crash dieting, and other options, were more likely to lose weight and keep it off. If that sounds appealing to you, than you have to try this methodology out, and ViSalus may be the key to helping you. With a great tasting opportunity and real world results, you are going to find that greatness abounds with relative ease.
Skeptics are going to try and say that this is not a good option, but don't believe them. Test this for yourself and see why so many are turning to this option instead of trying to get involved with crash course diets, and other options that will leave you starving and wishing you were on a different path. All it takes is a week to start seeing results, and that's not too much to ask. If you replace 2 meals, and eat well at night, you will have the ticket to the body you've always wanted, guaranteed.

How to Write SEO Optimized Blog Posts

I'm not a SEO Expert, nor what you will read further is a top secret, but this is about the basic optimization that everyone should apply in order to write seo optimized blog posts. And with these techniques, effort, and a bit of patience, you can occupy the best places in the search results of different search engines.

Obviously, not all scenarios are the same, neither all blogs are positioned in the same manner, some might have greater competition than others depending on how popular is the topic that they handle; therefore, when it comes to web ranking, there's no specific time that applies for all. Having said this, let's get into the subject.

Focus on a topic

Whatever the topic of your blog is, when you try to write a seo optimized blog post, focus on a specific subject that has a clear purpose, with no distractions. For example, if you write about "Digital Cameras", then the beginning and ending of your post should be only about it. Don't start talking about digital cameras and end up telling about what you have done last weekend. A reader goes to a page because is looking for a specific information. So, unless it is not a personal blog (where you write about your daily life), do not deviate from the topic.

Define the post title

The post title should be short and to the point, so that you can briefly summarize the content of the post, but you shouldn't abuse this either. Although it has to be concise, don't try to 'save' words which might be keys to the search.

Examples:
Collection of all the cameras that have been released last year on the market
The best digital cameras of 2013
Clearly, the first one hasn't been defined very much, and the second one is not only more accurate, but it is also more relevant for what people are searching on the internet.

The keywords

Keywords are those terms that the most people are searching for on the internet and you should try focusing on them when writing a post; these keywords need to be included throughout the entire post, but be careful to not over-stuff keywords into your content.

Example:
During the fourth week of the technology, there were many products that are utilized today, and the most famous experts gave a speech on them.
At the opening of the fourth Technology Week, the experts talked about various topics, including how to choose a digital camera, had discussions about the pros and cons of the iPad, and which are the best smartphones.
In the first example, we have written without paying attention to any terms. While, in the second one, we used phrases that are searched on the internet by the most users.

So, the most popular keywords should be included wisely without cluttering your posts with them, or it can be counterproductive.

Again, these keywords should be included in the posts title, as well.

Rely on synonyms

While it's a good strategy to use specific keywords, we should not limit ourselves to a single word. It is recommended using synonyms because users do not name things in same way and using less keywords, we can avoid leaving the impression that we are being too repetitive and insistent.

Examples:
For those who like good quality pictures, Nikon D7000s Digital Camera is a 16.2 megapixel digital camera that takes great pictures.
For those who like good quality images, Nikon D7000s is a 16.2 megapixel digital camera that takes excellent pictures.
In the first example, we have repeated the word 'digital camera' and 'pictures' twice. While, in the second one, we used the digital camera keyword once and changed the word 'pictures' with 'images'.

This way, the reader will find a greater diversity of words and might enjoy the article more.

Using bold and italics

A good practice when you write seo optimized blog posts, would be to make the keywords bold by wrapping them in strong tags, so that they will stand out from the rest. But keep in mind that this shouldn't be done with CSS, but with HTML, i.e. they should not be tagged with font-weight: bold; but rather with <b> or even better, with <strong>.

Examples:
For those who like good quality images, Nikon D7000s is a 16.2 megapixel digital camera that takes excellent pictures.
The result seems to be the same, but it is not. Although these three keywords are in bold, only one is more attractive to robots, which is the first:
For those who like <strong>good quality images</strong>, <b>Nikon D7000s</b> is a 16.2 megapixel <span style="font-weight: bold;">digital camera</span> that takes excellent pictures.
The same goes for the italics. Use them for highlighting important words, but don't place them between font-style: italic; but rather between <i> or even better <em>.
For those who like <strong>good quality images</strong>, <em>Nikon D7000s</em> is a 16.2 megapixel <span style="font-style: italic;">digital camera</span> that takes excellent pictures.
Again, the first one has a better chance of ranking than the others. Thus, it is recommended to highlight the keywords in bold and italics, or to put them between <strong> and </strong>, or between <em> and </em>.

Using External Links

Some may say that we shouldn't use links in the posts because this way we are giving away our Page Rank. This is not quite true. Using referral links to sites that have already shaped their credibility, will also help us to shape our own. Certainly, we should not flood our posts with links, but we can do it when is needed and especially with sites that talk about the same topics as our own.

Another important thing to mention is that, we should avoid putting the typical "click here" or similar texts. When you put a link, the anchor text should be fairly descriptive.

Examples:
<a href="Link URL">Click here</a> to know more
More information about <a href="Link URL">digital cameras</a>
In the first example, the anchor text is not relevant and descriptive, but in the second it is.

Rank with your images

Posts with images are not only visually appealing, but might help the reader to understand what you are talking about. So, whenever you can, use an image in your post to illustrate the writing, but don't overdo it. Many images or very large images can slow the loading time of the blog.

New and relevant content

You should focus not only on writing many posts, but also making them relevant to your readers. New and original content is more attractive to the search engines, than a copy & paste (actually, the last gets penalized). So try to write new stuff, even if you think that all has been said. Each person has a different way of saying things.

Also, always get informed before writing a post. Do a research and see if the information is valid; based on that, you will gain the trust of your readers.

Final Words

With these few techniques you can increase the chances of ranking your posts higher in search engines. As I mentioned earlier, these aren't things that no one heard about, but I know that many are beginners and may not know how to write seo optimized blog posts.

It does not hurt repeating that the results won't appear overnight, but with some effort and patience, you should see the desired results over time.

The Benefits Of Having Fruits As A Part Of The Daily Diet

Fruits are the fleshy seed-associated structures of plants that can either be sweet or sour and that can be edible in their raw state. Examples of fruits include oranges, apples, grapes, bananas, lemons and strawberries. They are a good source of food for humans and they account for the most substantial fraction of the agricultural produce in the world today. Causes, Types And Treatment Of Painful Menstruation(Dysmenorrhoea)

Although menstruation in women should be, and often painless. Many women suffer from the discomfort triggered by pain during their periods at some time during thier reproductory life. Dysmenorrhoea, also known as painful menstruation can be classified into

 Two main types, namely
  •  Primary or Spasmodic dysmenorrhoea
  • secondary or Congestive dysmenorrhoea.

 Primary or spasmodic dysmenorrhoea:
This is the commonest type of dysmenorrhoea and it usually occurs in girls or young women. The pain is spasmodic in nature(resembling a sudden contraction of the muscles). Usually starting on the first day of the period. It may last for several hours or continue through out the day and towards the next day. Sometimes the mentrual flow is scanty at first and the pain becomes lighter when the flow is properly established. The acute pain may be followed by a dull ache, nausea and vomitting and sometimes diarrhoea, headace and fainting may occur. The continuation of dysmenorrhoea to the age of 30 is more common in unmarried than married women.
 Causes of Spasmodic dysmenorrhoea:
 You should know that the pain is due to the spasm of the uterine muscle,() which is sufficient to cause ischaemia. The cause of the spasm is not certain but various factors have being discussed.
  1. Cervical obstruction.
  2.  Hormonal imbalance.
  3.  Prostaglandin{natural occurring lipids}
  4. Psychological factors
  5. Nerve pathways

Treatment:
  1.  Correct any cause of emotional stress
  2.  During attack, take a hot bath and then relax in bed with a hot water bottle.
  3.  Analgestic drugs such as aspirin,codeine or dihydrocodeine should be prescribed but you should stay away habit forming drugs such as morphine, pethidine or alcohol. Anti spasmodic drugs such as atropine are usually ineffective.
  4. Suppress ovulation, the easiest way for these is  to prescribe one of combined oral contraceptive preparations using pill containing 20 to 30 micro gram of oestrogen or an oral progestogen such as dydrogesterone(duphaston) will be helpful in the doses 10mg daily by mouth from days 5 to 25 of each cycle. Note: this is not suitable for someone who wishes to become pregnant.
  5. Drugs which inhibits the production of prostaglandins in the endometrium may diminish myometrial contractions{contraction of the smooth muscles forming the walls of the uterus} and therefore relieve dysmenorrhoea.

Secondary or congestive dysmenorrhoea:
Congestive dysmenorrhoea is mainly caused by a pelvic inflammatory disease and endometriosis {the mucus membrane that lines the uterus, the fertilized egg implants is implanted} it  arises from an increased blood supply in the area caused by pelvic disease. .The pain is a dull ache in the lower abdomen and back, sometimes extending to the thigh.
  An acute colicky pain may occur if a fibromyomatous {a benign uterine tumour} polyp is pushed or trusted  out through the cervix, and in some women an intrauterine contraceptive device will cause colicky.

The treatment for congestive dysmenorrhoea is to treat the type of pelvic diseases that triggers the painful menstruation.
Types of pelvic diseases
  • Menorrhagia
  • Dyspareunia
  • Infertility
In subsequent posts i will be treating the types of pelvic diseases in details.
Stay tuned!

Every Child Needs a Father

A child who grows up in a restless environment is unconfident, sorrowful, disobedient, rebellious, stubborn, jealous and aggressive. In later years, these children suffer from developmental disorders in education and are frequently punished for offenses resulting from an environment lacking the cooperation between the father and the mother and their joint care. A child needs the father - and if it does not have him, it wants to know the reason why. Fathers involvement in the upbringing of children represents the masculine element that is so important for the child as a maturing young boy/girl. Fatherly leadership gives a child's character a direction and the father's action and behaviour represents protection, safety and support for the child.

  For a child of preschool age, the father is a representative of the world of men, his presence and the upbringing the child receives from him enrich the child with further knowledge, he makes the child familiar with many other activities that mothers usually do not pursue, the father is usually the child's first sports teacher, teacher of professional subjects, he teaches and familiarizes the child with things associated with the maintenance of the household. The father usually plays a crucial role model for a boy; for a girl, he is the first perfect man. Most children are proud of their fathers and of the things he has done in his life. Nevertheless, there are also children who cannot speak highly about their fathers; there are children who disguise their fathers' offenses, misdemeanours and weaknesses; children who feel ashamed of their fathers; and there are children who prefer not to hear of their fathers. These are the children whose fathers have disappointed them, who did not experience fatherly love, but knew his weaknesses.
  Even nowadays children are physically punished for misdemeanours that they have committed. Corporal punishments may silence a child and force it to obey the stronger adult. If a child is forced by parents to confess to something that it did not do, it is a wrong that the child will remember for many years; a grievance that the boy or girl will never forget and for which he or she will never forgive the parents. A modern child looks for authority in its father, but it also wants him to be its lifelong friend.
One of the greatest educational values is a child's feeling that the parents support it in failure and in moments of crisis. Such support is provided by both parents, but not to the same extent. Mothers have an instinctive understanding of what is going on with their children, they are able to sense their children's problems and the feeling of uncertainty even when the child says nothing. The father shows a child the way and direction.
  A child is impressed by a father who can bear the brunt of challenging life situations; a father who plays with the child while it is small, helps the child build its dreams while maturing and helps it plan its career when choosing a profession. A child is impressed by a father who is clever with his hands, who helps the mother maintain the household, who does not cry when sick, but teaches the child courage and self-reliance as he serves as an example. In broken families without a father the upbringing of a child is more difficult, because the child is lacking a male role model.

How to Help a Teenager Who Says He Or She Wants to Die

What an important topic! It is true that teenagers these days experience a lot of stress and emotional pain, and often feel overwhelmed. Often, a teenager who says they want to die are experiencing profoundly overwhelming emotions and confusion, and are letting you know that they are in extreme emotional pain and need help. Sometimes when a teen says he/she wants to die it may mean they are an immediate risk for suicide.

1. No matter which option, this statement needs to be taken seriously
If a teenager says, "I want to die, I want to kill myself, or I'm going to commit suicide", always take the statement seriously and immediately seek assistance from a qualified mental health professional. I know that you may feel uncomfortable talking to your teen about wanting to die, or even contemplating suicide. If they have brought it up to you (or even if they haven't directly) they need to talk about it. Rather than putting thoughts in the teens head, asking about their feelings will provide assurance that you care and will give them the chance to talk about their problems.
Depression and suicidal feelings are treatable disorders. The child or adolescent needs to have his or her deep pain recognized and diagnosed, and appropriate treatment plan developed. When parents are in doubt whether their child has a serious problem, a psychiatric examination can be very helpful.
2. Here's some information on teen suicide
Suicides among young people continue to be a serious problem. Each year in the U.S., thousands of teenagers commit suicide. Suicide is the third leading cause of death for 15 to 24 year-olds and the sixth leading cause of death for 5 to 14 year-olds.
Recently released statistics reveal that approximately three million youths, aged 12 to 17, either thought seriously about suicide or attempted suicide in 2000. More than one third, 37 percent, actually tried to kill themselves. Most were suffering from undiagnosed or untreated clinical depression. An estimated 75 percent of all those who commit suicide give some warning of their lethal intentions by mentioning their feelings of despair to a friend or family member.
Many of the signs and symptoms of suicidal feelings are similar to those of depression. Parents should be aware of the following signs of adolescents who may try to kill themselves:
  • change in eating and sleeping habits
  • withdrawal from friends, family, and regular activities
  • violent actions, rebellious behavior, or running away
  • drug and alcohol use
  • unusual neglect of personal appearance
  • marked personality change
  • persistent boredom, difficulty concentrating, or a decline in the quality of schoolwork
  • frequent complaints about physical symptoms, often related to emotions, such as stomachaches, headaches, fatigue, etc.
  • loss of interest in pleasurable activities
  • not tolerating praise or rewards
A teenager who is planning to commit suicide may also:
  • complain of being a bad person or feeling rotten inside
  • give verbal hints with statements such as 'I won't be a problem for you much longer', 'Nothing matters', 'It's no use', and 'I won't see you again'
  • put his or her affairs in order, for example, give away favorite possessions, clean his or her room, throw away important belongings, etc.
  • become suddenly cheerful after a period of depression
  • have signs of psychosis (hallucinations or bizarre thoughts)
If one or more of these signs occurs, parents need to talk to their child about their concerns and seek professional help from a physician or a qualified mental health professional.
3. Realize that being a teen can be really tough these days
Adolescence is a stressful experience for all teens. It is a time of physical and social change with hormones producing rapid mood swings from sadness to elation. Lack of life experience may result in impulsive behavior or poor decisions. The teenager's brain is "under construction" and is not fully formed until age 25. This includes areas such as forethought, planning, and delayed gratification.
Even an emotionally healthy youngster may have constant fears of "not being good enough" to be asked out on a date, make the varsity team, or get good grades. Special situations such as parental divorce or the breakup of a dating relationship may trigger intense sadness and feelings of wanting to die.
For a teen suffering from severe or chronic depression, feelings of worthlessness and hopelessness magnify and dominate waking hours. The ratio of "sad" to "happy" moments becomes lopsided. Despair is ever- present and emotional pain feels like it will never end. Any situation of anger or disappointment may cause a fragile youngster to cross the line from wanting to die to actually attempting suicide.
Unfortunately, adolescents do not wear a sign saying whether they are temporarily sad or chronically depressed. External indicators such as clothing, music preferences, grades, or even attitude are not accurate indicators of propensity for suicide.
All statements regarding suicidal ideation and/or concrete plans need to be taken seriously by adults.
Chronic hopelessness, harsh self-criticism, and feeling unlovable and unwanted, create a pain that cannot be described. Some severely depressed teens try to rid themselves of this awful feeling by self-medicating with alcohol or other drugs. Others self-injure by cutting, burning, biting or even breaking their own bones in an effort to release the excruciating self-hatred.
Fortunately, most teens will communicate this pain through conversations or writings. Our job as adults is to provide both an ear and a path to professional help when this information is shared.
Depression is a treatable disease and, with proper intervention, most suicidal teens can be helped to lead long and productive lives.
4. What to do when a teen says he/she wants to die or is suicidal
Talk to them by letting them know:
  • I care about you. I do not want you to die. I would miss you so much, you are so important to me.
  • Ask them "what is causing you so much pain?" Listen, listen, listen and do not try to be logical or talk them out of their pain. At that moment the person can't think of the future, they can only think about now. They are preoccupied with a painful past and present. You are trying to accomplish two things -- give them someone to listen to them fully so they know they are loved and cared about, and to get valuable information about their frame of reference.
  • Ask them, if you could wave a magic wand and could change your life, what would you change? This will give you important information about where they are experiencing pain, and what in their life feels like it won't change.
  • Tell them a part of them wants to live (even if it is tiny). Tell them again you want to help them to live, and will get them help.
  • Let them know you are taking them seriously. You might say, "Look, you let me know you were feeling suicidal. If you didn't want help, you would never have said anything to me, so I'm not going to let it go. Come on. Both of us will go see someone." This kind of response lets the person know how serious you are and how much you care. It brings them back in touch with that part that wants to live. In most cases they will agree to see someone after hearing this. If they still insist on not talking and take off, it is critical that someone who can get to that youngster be told immediately.
  • Tell them that even if they have no hope for them, you have hope, and they can barrow some of your hope for them.

5. Realize that you are an important person to them, or they would not have told you anything at all.You are already a safe person that they trust and are hoping can help them. By acknowledging their feelings of devastation or depression you will continue to build a strong relationship with them. Your listening to them and trying to understand them will help the teen feel like there is help available. You are really important to them, and you matter to them. Do not feel like you have to take the burden of what they've shared completely on yourself. There are medical and mental health professionals you can enlist who can help the teen who has confided in you.
6. Try to assess if the threat is immediate, ask
"Have you thought about how you might do this?" If they say I have a gun, pills, etc. in my car/in my room that shows they have a plan and are at high risk -- you need to get help right away by calling 911, their parents, their primary care doctor, anyone. Don't send them home by themselves, even if they insist they are fine or were just kidding. If they really want to end their life, they will be mad at you for taking action, but getting them immediate help is more important than their displeasure with you. Most likely, later they will understand. If you begin to doubt the wisdom of getting psychological help, ask yourself if you would hesitate taking your child to a doctor if his leg was broken just because she "did not want to go."
Because of the thin line that exists between "having an idea" and "acting on that idea," it is critical that any suicide threat be taken seriously. If your child says he or she wants to die and/or shares a suicide plan there is no time to speculate whether the words are "real" or if the "mood will pass."
If the threat does not seem immediate, do not take a risk -- let the teens parents know, make sure they get an appointment with their primary care doctor, go to ER, etc. While both "situationally unhappy" and "clinically depressed" teens may become suicidal, the second group is more likely to have a plan and materials necessary to carry out this project successfully.
If you are the parent, and it is daytime, call your primary physician for immediate help. If the doctor is not available, many communities have mental health hot-lines offering guidance or a 24-hour center where psychiatric emergencies can be evaluated. If all else fails, calling 911 or your local police will generate needed assistance.
If the threat is not immediate, it is still important to follow up with a psychological evaluation. Again, your primary physician should be able to provide you with an appropriate referral. If you don't know if the threat is immediate, err on the side of taking action sooner.
Realize that sometimes wanting to die is a sign of clinical depression, which means that chemical changes have taken place in the teens brain to the point that medication is needed for a time to restore balance in the brain chemicals. An evaluation by a psychiatrist and/or primary care doctor is needed to determine the course of treatment. Multiple research has found that the best treatment for depression is a combination of medication and talk therapy.
I hope this has been helpful for you in helping the teens in your life. You are very important to them, and you and your relationship with them matters.

How Youngsters Might Express Suicidal Thoughts

One of the problems in assessing suicidal risk in a young person is that they often don't say much at all. As every counselor knows, even under more favorable circumstances, getting youngsters to really talk to you can be a challenge in itself. Just having a discussion with a youngster can end up with the adult doing most of the talking.

Behavior can speak volumes, and we should pay attention to it. To get to a youngster's thoughts, however, we need to communicate with them.
In my preparation for a radio show on this topic, I remembered something I picked up some time ago. It's a simple three-component diagnostic tool for helping to assess suicidal risk in a young person, although it would work very well with adults, also. It relates to a youngster's perception, their take, on the circumstances they are facing in terms of three "I"s: Inescapable, Interminable and Intolerable. This tool can provide a therapist or a counselor with much-needed information.
Although it's rare a youngster will speak in these terms directly, listen closely, because what they do say might come from one or even all three of these "I"s. Let's look at a few examples how the child or adolescent might express them:
INESCAPABLE: "I feel trapped;" "I can't get away from it;" "I'm stuck; I can't move."
INTERMINABLE: "It's NEVER going to end;" "It will always be like this;" "It will NEVER stop."
INTOLERABLE: "I just can't take it anymore;" "It's more than I can stand;" "It's too much for me to handle."
Listening for references to Inescapable, Interminable and Intolerable just might help one capture and reframe a youngster's perspective, as they move to replace hopelessness with elements of authentic hope.
In the end, it might even save a life. ###

What Is Dementia? And What Are Signs and Symptoms of Dementia?

Dementia is not a single disease in itself, but a general term to describe symptoms such as impairments to memory, communication and thinking.

While the likelihood of having dementia increases with age, it is not a normal part of aging. Before we had today's understanding of specific disorders, "going senile" used to be a common phrase for dementia ("senility"), which misunderstood it as a standard part of getting old.
Light cognitive impairments, by contrast, such as poorer short-term memory, can happen as a normal part of aging (we slowly start to lose brain cells as we age beyond our 20s3). This is known as age-related cognitive decline, not dementia, because it does not cause the person or the people around them any problems.1 Dementia describes two or more types of symptom that are severe enough to affect daily activities.
Symptoms that are classed as "mild cognitive impairment" - which, unlike cognitive decline, are not a normal part of aging - do not qualify as dementia either, since these symptoms are not severe enough.1 For some people though, this milder disease leads to dementia later on.
An analysis of the most recent census estimates that 4.7 million people aged 65 years or older in the US were living with Alzheimer's disease in 2010.5 The Alzheimer's Association has used this analysis to number-crunch the extent of the disorder in its 2013 report. It estimates that:
Just over a tenth of people aged 65 years or more have Alzheimer's disease.
This proportion rises to about a third of people aged 85 and older.
The non-profit organization says Alzheimer's accounts for between 60% and 80% of all cases of dementia, with vascular dementia caused by stroke being the second most common type.
Signs and symptoms
Memory loss in dementia can be serious enough for the person to forget where they are, even on their home street.
The symptoms of dementia experienced by patients, or noticed by people close to them, are exactly the same signs that healthcare professionals look for. Therefore, detailed information on these is given in the next section about tests and diagnosis.
A person with dementia may show any of the following problems, mostly due to memory loss - some of which they may notice (or become frustrated with) themselves, while others may only be picked up by carers or healthcare workers as a cause for concern. The signs used to compile this list are published by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) in the journal American Family Physician:6
Recent memory loss - a sign of this might be asking the same question repeatedly, forgetting about already asking it.
Difficulty completing familiar tasks - for example, making a drink or cooking a meal, but forgetting and leaving it.
Problems communicating - difficulty with language by forgetting simple words or using the wrong ones.
Disorientation - with time and place, getting lost on a previously familiar street close to home, for example, and forgetting how they got there or would get home again.
Poor judgment - the AAFP says: "Even a well person might get distracted and forget to watch a child for a little while. People with dementia, however, might forget all about the child and just leave the house for the day."
Problems with abstract thinking - for example, dealing with money.
Misplacing things - including putting them in the wrong places and forgetting about doing this.
Mood changes - unlike those we all have, swinging quickly through a set of moods.
Personality changes - becoming irritable, suspicious or fearful, for example.
Loss of initiative - showing less interest in starting something or going somewhere.

Treatment of dementia: depends on its cause. In the case of most progressive dementias, including Alzheimer's disease, currently their is no cure and no treatment that could stop its progression. But there are drug treatments that may temporarily improve symptoms. The same medications used to treat Alzheimer's are among the drugs sometimes prescribed to help with symptoms of other types of dementias. Non-drug therapies can also alleviate some symptoms of dementia.

research is currently going on to configure an effective treatment for dememtia.

Dementia's risk and prevention

Some risk factors for dementia, such as age and genetics, cannot be changed. But researchers continue to explore the impact of other risk factors on brain health and prevention of dementia. Some of the most active areas of research in risk reduction and prevention include cardiovascular factors, physical fitness, and diet.

Cardiovascular risk factors: Your brain is nourished by one of your body's richest networks of blood vessels. Anything that damages blood vessels anywhere in your body can damage blood vessels in your brain, depriving brain cells of vital food and oxygen. Blood vessel changes in the brain are linked to vascular dementia. They often are present along with changes caused by other types of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease and dementia with Lewy bodies. These changes may interact to cause faster decline or make impairments more severe. You can help protect your brain with some of the same strategies that protect your heart – don't smoke; take steps to keep your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar within recommended limits; and maintain a healthy weight.

Physical exercise: Regular physical exercise may help lower the risk of some types of dementia. Evidence suggests exercise may directly benefit brain cells by increasing blood and oxygen flow to the brain.

Diet: What you eat may have its greatest impact on brain health through its effect on heart health. The best current evidence suggests that heart-healthy eating patterns, such as the Mediterranean diet, also may help protect the brain. A Mediterranean diet includes relatively little red meat and emphasizes whole grains, fruits and vegetables, fish and shellfish, and nuts, olive oil and other healthy fats.
